What heavyweights in the last 3 decades had great lateral movement? The 70s and 80s had a lot of movers, but they seemed to have become less common from the 90s onwards. Even quick footed heavyweights appear to have adopted less dynamic footwork, with some exceptions. What heavyweights from the 90s till now would you say had great lateral movement reminiscent of the 70s and 80s?
plodders, basic boxers and big cumbersome giants for the most part, hardly any real 'Boxers' ... LL may have been the last and Lil' Klit.
I think the obvious answer has to be said, it's Usyk. Holyfield too, actually, he didn't use it much but when he did, he almost always looked good. I suppose you'd have to say someone like Fury for third but I have a niggling feeling there's someone I'm missing.
It's not the best example of Byrd's movement because of the ending, but it look pretty good against Ibeabuci too.
Fres Oquendo, Larry Donald are two that haven’t been mentioned. Good shout on Fast Eddie. Ibrigamov showed it too.
Added to those above, Corrie Sanders was exceptionally light on his feet when younger and conditioned.
I don't know if he had particularly skilled footwork but David Haye was exceptionally fast on his feet.
