    We’ll do a 16-man tournament with:

    • 8 fighters from 1900–1949
    • 8 fighters from 1950–1980
    • Heavyweights and light heavyweights only
    • Everyone benefits from modern training, nutrition, sports science, and recovery

    Single elimination bracket.

    TEAM 1900–1949

    1. Jack Johnson (HW)
    2. Jack Dempsey (HW)
    3. Gene Tunney (HW)
    4. Joe Louis (HW)
    5. Rocky Marciano (HW)
    6. Harry Greb (LHW)
    7. Archie Moore (LHW/HW)
    8. Max Schmeling (HW)

    TEAM 1950–1980

    1. Muhammad Ali (HW)
    2. Sonny Liston (HW)
    3. Joe Frazier (HW)
    4. George Foreman (HW)
    5. Larry Holmes (HW)
    6. Ken Norton (HW)
    7. Bob Foster (LHW)
    8. Ezzard Charles (LHW/HW)

    ROUND OF 16

    Side A

    1. Joe Louis vs Ken Norton
    2. Jack Dempsey vs Larry Holmes
    3. Rocky Marciano vs George Foreman
    4. Harry Greb vs Bob Foster

    Side B

    1. Jack Johnson vs Joe Frazier
    2. Gene Tunney vs Sonny Liston
    3. Archie Moore vs Muhammad Ali
    4. Max Schmeling vs Ezzard Charles

With Modern Advancement — Who Advances?

    Quarterfinalists

    • Joe Louis (too technically sharp for Norton)
    • Larry Holmes (jab neutralizes Dempsey)
    • George Foreman (too big + modern strength training overwhelms Marciano)
    • Harry Greb (relentless pace breaks Foster)
    • Joe Frazier (body work beats Johnson in modern tempo fight)
    • Sonny Liston (power + jab breaks Tunney)
    • Muhammad Ali (movement too much for Moore)
    • Ezzard Charles (outboxes Schmeling)

    Quarterfinals

    • Joe Louis vs Larry Holmes
    • George Foreman vs Harry Greb
    • Joe Frazier vs Sonny Liston
    • Muhammad Ali vs Ezzard Charles

    Winners:

    • Larry Holmes (long jab disrupts Louis rhythm)
    • George Foreman (Greb too small at true modern HW size)
    • Sonny Liston (beats Frazier before Frazier closes distance)
    • Muhammad Ali (speed edge over Charles)

    Semifinals

    • Larry Holmes vs George Foreman
    • Sonny Liston vs Muhammad Ali

    Winners:
George Foreman (modern conditioning + power breaks Holmes late)
    • Muhammad Ali (same reason he beat Liston historically — speed + mind games)

    FINAL

George Foreman vs Muhammad Ali (both in prime, modern era)

    With:

    • Modern recovery
    • Year-round conditioning
    • 12-round format
    • Improved defense training

    This becomes different than Zaire.

Prime young Foreman with modern stamina is terrifying.

But prime, focused Ali with modern film study and science?

    I think…

    TOURNAMENT WINNER:

    Muhammad Ali

    Because:

    • He can adapt mid-fight
    • He has elite durability
    • He handles power punchers historically
    • In modern 12 rounds, his movement is harder to break
