Heavyweight prospects to look forward too after Itauma failed

American grassroots boxing is basically dead. Unless someone in your family boxed or you live in a handful of big cities, you simply won't be exposed to it as a youth.

 

Stamina can't be fixed? LOL

 

Moses is still the best prospect.

Remember Wladimir Klitschko vs Ross Puritty? Wlad won every round convincingly, and then gassed from throwing too many punches, trying to impress the Kiev fans (his first fight there) with a KO. Puritty was very durable, actually stronger and more muscular than slender young Wlad, at 6'5" and 250 pounds to Wlad's 225.

Young Joe Louis vs Max Schmeling? Louis lost by TKO, then went on to become an ATG heavyweight.

I'm not saying Itauma is the next Wladimir Klitschko or the next Joe Louis, what I'm saying is that you should never give up on a talented young boxer after an early loss. It depends upon how mentally strong he is.

We should not give up on Itauma yet.

Many great fighters of the past had losses at an early age, then went on to achieve great things.

Several current titleholders have come back from losses, for example Dubois was stopped three times but is now the WBO titleholder.

 

If Jai Opetaia can take his chin and power to HW then he beats all of them.

He’d beat Itauma for fun.

Also, I wouldn’t be sleeping on Teremoana Teremoana. The guy has levers and hit’s like a truck. Like Itauma though (well until now) his chin hasn’t been tested.

 

If boxing wasn't as global, Americans and Brits would still be dominating.
