Seriously, is your opinion that those injuries were same value to a boxer? Or was a second much more harmful?
Really? Cause Sam Peter and Liakovitch were also beating Helenius on the cards. I'm not convinced Chisora doesn't go the distance and rightfully win the fight on the cards, even if Helenius was healthy.
These 2 are pretty close. Dimitrenko had a good run before getting beat by Chambers, and has a few (unimpressive) wins since then. Fury deserves credit for beating Del Boy but not that long ago he should have lost to McDermott. And in his last 2 fights he needed questionable ref stoppages vrs. guys who were connecting on him. When it comes down to it, Chisora is Fury's only big win and the only reason he deserves to be ranked in the Top 20. Both of these guys are threats to everyone outside of K2 because of their size but right now I don't see either getting a title. Fury has plenty of time to improve though.
1. Wladimir Klitshcko IBF, WBO, WBA super, IBO, Lineal (Ukraine) 2. Vitali Klitschko WBC (Ukraine) 3. David Haye (UK) 4. Alex Povetkin WBA interim (Russia) 5. Ruslan Chagaev (Uzbekistan) 6. Dereck Chisora (UK) 7. Odlandier Solis (Cuba) 8. Robert Helenius (Finland) 9. Tomasz Adamek (Poland) 10. Eddie Chambers (USA) 11. Chris Arreola (USA) 12. Tyson Fury (UK) 13. Denis Boystov (Russia) 14. Kevin Johnson (USA) 15. Kubret Pulev (Bulgaria 16. Alex Dimtrenko (Ukraine) 17. Tony Thompson (USA) 18. Seth Mitchell (USA) 19. J.M.Mormeck (France) 20. David Price (UK)
Maybe not on the corrupt Sauerland scorecards but if you look at the round by round threads here and at other fan sites they had Peter and Liakhovitch up.
I could see rating Haye ahead of Povetkin h2h but as far as ratings go, no way. Povetkin has re-established himself as the #1 contender by convincingly beating Chagaev and Boswell.
what has pala, grant, wach, boystov, perez, pianeta, wawrzyk, gomez, pulev, fury, mitchell, or chisora done that kali meehan, alex leapai, bowie tupou haven't? yes i'm from oz, but its a great point imo. i'm not saying that these 3 r better than this list, but i'm yet to see that they r not. just cause a fighter isn't from europe, doesn't mean they r not up to it.
Well Leapai's fighting Kingpin so if he wins he leaps into my top 30 for sure. With Meehan soon to be facing Walker I don't know if a win would be enough to crack my top 30, maybe with a stunning KO perhaps.
i still believe that those guys have achieved no more than the 3 i listed. u ignore them imo, cause they r not in the usa or europe.
Bowie Tupou seems back on track after being inactive after his loss. I'd like to see any of those three Aussies you mentioned make some waves in 2012 by taking some risks. Agree with Manning, if Leapai can beat Kingpin people will take notice.
He'll set a big marker down if he does. If there is one thing the slickster Kingpin can do it's avoid getting hit.
Here's my Top 20 as of now (after Povetkin/Huck, before Wlad/Mormeck). I'm leaving out Haye (officially retired) and Chambers/Mormeck (inactive over a year). 1. Wlad 2. Vitali 3. Povetkin 4. Thompson 5. Chisora 6. Helenius 7. Adamek 8. Huck 9. Arreola 10. Pulev 11. Dimitrenko 12. Chagaev 13. Fury 14. Boystov 15. Ustinov 16. Solis 17. Lawrence 18. Stiverne 19. Mitchell 20. Mansour
kingpin says he is gunna hurt leapai bad and is going for the ko. there may be plenty of exchanges afterall.
