    1. Holmes
    2. Lennox
    3. Vitaly
    4. Holyfield
    5. Bowe
I think Larry has always been very under-rated because he came right after Ali. People didn't like him from the time he put that beating on Ali, in a fight that never should have happened. I personally think Holmes is the 3rd best HW of all-time.

Maybe Holmes was underrated but the fact is his best win was really against a decline 38 years old Ali speaks volume of the resumes of the fighters Holmes beat. <<<<<Which is why I don't rate Holmes in any of the top 3 best hv of all times cause his resumes of the fighters he beat were very weak.

I’ll add to that and ask who did Lewis beat that was a great and at their best? Who did Vitali beat that was a great and at their best? The same for Tyson, Bowe, Wlad and Holyfield?

You could use the same argument for the others who did not fight each other then.

Look at Lewis resumes and look at Holmes resumes like seriously stop it. Lewis resumes easily beat Holmes resumes. In fact I would've bet a prime vitali would've beat holmes.

Norton, Shavers twice, toyed with Berbick, Cooney, Witherspoon. The bummer was during Larry's title run, there wasn't a lot for him. Holmes jab was amazing. He had length, great footwork, great movement, great ring IQ, great chin, could go 15 rounds and was a good finisher when he got someone in trouble too. Prime Holmes would be competitive with any HW of all-time. And could beat any of them on a good night. Just my opinion, I'm obviously a huge Larry fan.

But the question remains did Lewis ever beat a great fighter who could be said to be still in or near his prime during his career?

Basically you can pick holes in anyone’s resume if you were really of that mind to do that.

He beat vitali who prove to be a great fighter. Vitali at his best is better than any fighters Holmes beat and it ain't even close.
