Heavyweight Roy Jones Jr vs Max Schmelling H2H

RJJ IMO. Too quick to be caught by Schmeling's counters. That being said, RJJ's reflexes were in early decline at this time. So i wouldn't count Max out.

I wish RJJ moved up around 2000. I think he could have done decently at heavy as long as he avoided Lewis and Tua. And the Klit brothers obviously.

RJJ UD imo.

 

They are completely equal in weight and RJJ wouldn't have to "run" around the ring like he did against Ruiz.
However, RJJ is too "quick" for Schmeling.
RJJ wins by knockout.

 

I don’t think that the Ruiz version of Roy has the footspeed to befuddle Max like a lighter version of him would, Schmeling KOs him late.

 

Or maybe Lewis, Tua and the K2 brothers avoid him??

 

Roy sparks him out cold. The disparity in eras would be shocking to the windowlickers in this forum.

Schmeling, easily, he was a vastly superior fighter than Ruiz who is Jones’ signature win at heavyweight.

Roy would get iced easy this ain’t Sugar bald left handed guy whatever his name is we are talking about Mason Dixon? - this is the guy who beat Louis lol.

I think the big danger for Roy is the guys that throw sneaky right hands. And do not overthrow it allowing Jones to gauge it. The telegraphers he can handle. But I do not like that hand placement and not fighting or doing anything for 1/2 the round. He needs an opponent that will cooperate with that and not find the gas pedal. The sneaky right hand guy is a different kettle of fish and I think Roy is in big trouble the 2nd half of the fight.

 

Schemling would literally kill him, literally kill him with the first right hand.
