Read with attention. Notice how i left out Holyfield and Toney from the bunch of cruisers people dismisses. Why? Because they are repsected, for hystorical reasons.

Moving on, you're still stuck, and apparently unable to even understand, on the mistake that i already debunked.

Yes, all of them beat someone tall. So? The point, is? So what? Beating someone tall doesn't mean beat anyone tall. Because if that is true, then if someone tall beats someone small, it means he can beat anyone small. See how flawed is your logic? Can you see it? It's not difficult. But i'm sure your next post will still be pointing out how Marciano beat a 6'4 bum who looked uncoordinated even trying to keep his wimpy arms up, and couldn't walk and punch at the same time.

Solid proof, yeah. Conclusive, i'd argue :thumbsup

It's even worse than that. Valuev looks like a skillmaster compared to Carnera. Carnera was like, the most unskilled and unathletic person to ever enter a ring. It's painful to even watch him trying to fight.

Everyone that brings on Carnera instantly ridicules himself. Carnera was nothing. And he didn't even have a chin, unlike Valuev's iron. Valuev would have knocked Carnera outta the ring in the first round.

But that's the point. this is still happening worldwide, whereas in America this stopped happening way back then. Actually America's average height is shrinking, now. Beside, it's already been established that most of the heavyweight champions didn't have to struggle with food, certainly not the likes of Ali and such.

After a while, you start hitting dimishing returns. When most of a population have access to decent amounts of food, the average height peaks and stops growing.

Another interesting factor is that the maximum height potential is exclusively genetical, meaning you can give a person all the food in this world and he won't tops 5'7, while someone else won't stop till he's 6'7.

The average eight a well fed male will reach is around 5'11- 6 in western nations, but it depends also on the ethnicity. For example northern european countries have the highest average height in the world, likely due to evolutionary pressure. (cold reistance, constant infighting)

Other populations will never reach that average, meaning that statistically there'll be less chances of providing an outlier like a world wide champion. All the world wide champions are freaks and anomalies, though. 6'6'' is an unhealthy body size if you aren't equipped for it. Bigger bodies requires stronger hearths, better joints, veins, stronger muscles.

It's not that the average person is growing, its that the population is growing. I.E., there are so many people that there is a much larger talent pool of large people than ever before.

Realistically, the max average height is baked into us genetically. It's around 5'10 for men. We've topped out in America at just under that. Some European nations and regions its around 5'11, probably more due to measuring variables and sample size than anything else.

But, if you have a population that increases 40% over 20 years, then you'll have about 40% more of every height. And therefore a much broader pool of people from which to have the best athletic traits to maximize their height advantage.

True, I just didn't want to pile onto him, the point was devastating enough.

You guys saying Huck/Povetkin need to stop. Povetkin beat Huck in a close but clear one. Plus, this was an out of shape Povetkin who didn't take boxing seriously until after his loss to Klitschko.

That's really taken on an unjustified mythical status. He's done great since his loss to Wlad, no doubt, but the best wins of his career still happened pre Wlad. Byrd and Donald (even if both were semi shot), prime Chambers and Chagaev remain the four biggest wins of his career, and by far. The only one who is remotely comparable of the people he's beat since is Takam, and there's a gap between prime Takam, who's best win (and really only top 25 win) was Tony Thompson, and probably the least of those in semi shot Donald, who beat Holyfield and drew against Austin less than 3 years before their matchup.

No, my next point would be that the Klitschko's were beaten by non super heavies. Lamon Brewster is 6'2" and Ross Puritty is 6'3" yet they both knocked Wladimir out. Hasim Rahman is 6'2" but he managed to knock Lennox Lewis out. Obviously 6'2" guys can still get the job done against the superheavies; so there's no reason why Louis, Ali, or Holmes wouldn't still be great in this era. I've shown that smaller guys can beat your bigger guys, and I've shown that those three have beaten superheavies. Q.E.D.

Coming from you, Hturd, that's hysterical. You never have a good thing to say about any heavyweight, unless its in a situation like this, where you are giving a backhanded compliment to a fight in order to insult another poster. How many times to you call great, impressive fighters who have done more with their lives than you ever will a "fat, retired failure".

Your the quintessential keyboard cowboy, get outta here loser.

I don't need to, everyone on here familiar with you at all knows you say those exact words every single time Corrie Sanders comes up. I half expect you to say it again now that I've mentioned his name, even though it will show your hypocrisy. You can't help yourself.

So you don't deny you use those exact words in relation to Corrie Sanders? Thanks, proved my point hypocrit.

It isn't just the win. It's the way he's beating these guys. Even losing, Perez makes everyone look like amateurs the first four rounds. People were saying this would happen until Povetkin took over and Perez gassed. Didn't even come close to happening.
