Heavyweight Title Fights at Madison Square Garden

You can start with Willard-Moran and Dempsey-Brennan.

This should really be a simple task for anyone wiling to go down the list of heavyweight title fights and put in an hour or so. That's not me, however. But then I wasn't curious enough to start this thread.

 

6/23/69 Frazier-Quarry was considerd a Title fite.

 

ronnyrains it was a title bout on June 23 1969, it was for Joe Frazier's 5 State Title that Joe won by stopping Buster Mathis in 11 rounds on March 4 1968. Jerry Quarry did make a good fight of it early.

 

Are we counting John L Sullivan v Paddy Ryan in 1885? It only lasted about a minute before the police intervened but Ryan would presumably have claimed the title if he had won.
