Have you seen the interviews from the Bob Fitzsimmon Vs Jack Sharkey radio fight? Joe Louis thought very highly of Sharkey, saying he must've been one of the best American heavyweights ever.
Ahh but jazz music sucks. So his musical taste is questionable.....as is his record. I mean losing twice to Marciano? Marciano was Keystone Cops like in his ineptitude and swung himself around 360 degrees with every punch he threw (according to one of the more measured and respectful posters on this board) and he beat Charles twice??
James J Jeffries was born in the era of boxing when twerking was considered part of the training program. He looked terrible on film, hands low, with twitchy uncontrollable random movements of his arms and body. Also, big wide punches were the norm. It was when boxers like J Johnson evolved the straight punch, that his era was finally and blessedly over. That is easily seen in their fight , and Jeffires only chance was when Johnson would start laughing at him, you can see this in some clips were he is smiling at him. Today, Jeffries would not be able to even join the boxing gym as his talent level is just to low. Next up is Sonny Liston
With that uncontrollable twitching, he physically wouldn't be able to walk through the door. And they call him an Athe-lete!
