Why not? Bonin was ranked just outside the top 10 and got blown away.

It was a top ten performance.

    No he shouldn't.

Althought his win over Bonin was impessive, Bonin was ranked 15 in WBC.

Haye only has one fight in Heavyweight and all of a sudden people wanna put him in their top 10? Pfft.

I haven't seen 10 heavyweights worth watching since Lennox retired.

Why is Wlad champ rather than the #1 contender?

Vacancies are filled by having the #1 and #2 contenders fight, right?

I personally think Wlad is the #1 contender and Chagaev #2, but surely Sultan was not #2.

spot on. Haye shouldn't be annointed a top ten heavy w/o fighting someone decent first. not to mention his cruiser bout with enzo.

He was ranked 12 by the WBC.

If you took the number 12 apart that impressively where would you expect to be rated? 50th? 20th? I'd think 12 would be entirely reasonable, maybe a touch higher, with the chance of moving up if any of the others above me lose badly.

I dont see a ranking of 9th or 10th being entirely inappropriate. If we were rating on talent and potential he's top five.

I'd be interested to see how someone like Holyfield was ranked after he beat his first 11-20th ranked guy at HW.

That was the ring magazine formula...this guy can do whatever he wants. I think it makes sense considering Wlad has the best recent resume and just unified two of the belts.

Bonin being ranked 12th by the WBC was laughable and should have no baring on anything.

    Another plonker.

Perhaps my links earlier were too hard to follow so I'll make it easy for you.

He has already done a job on the WBC number 12 heavyweight in his fight before last.

Filling a vacancy has been a #1 vs. #2 thing for awhile.

Defeating Tomasz Bonin alone doesn't make anyone a top 10.

    CH: Wlad Klitschko
    1: Samuel Peter
    2. Ruslan Chagaev
    3. Oleg Maskaev
    4. Nikolay Valuev
    5. Alexander Povetkin
    6. Tony Thompson
    7. Sultan Ibragimov
    8. Chris Arreola
    9. Virchis
    10. Alexander Dimitrenko

He didn't deserve that 12 ranking.

Prior to the fight v Haye, Bonin fouhgt a 0-0 rated guy and he got KD'd and he struggled with him so bad. I rmember that fight so good becouse that was on the Cunninghamm v Wlodarczyk undercard.

His record is padded and he didn't deserve that ranking. He didn't deserve top 40.

After the Bonin fight, which didn't really proove anything, he would be ranked top 35 by WBC at best.
