Wlad late stoppage. Cooney wasn't the most durable fighter, neither is Wlad but he has more skills. Cooney will be eating the jab but might hang in there and cause Wlad some trouble. Ultimately I feel Cooney will get stopped late.

I think Wlad would fight a very cautious fight by just keeping cooney on the end of his jab all night. Vlad by late tko or points win.

i am going to play devils advocate here and punt for a cooney win ,cooney was tall enough to jab with wlad and had a great hook ,and holmes said he had trouble with cooney's jab so i would imagine wlad would not have everything his own way in the jab department if you couple that with wlad's obvious worry when opponents become aggressive as cooney would. i say cooney catches a retreating wlad and wins by stoppage around the 4th

everyone remember this is just a punt

Cooney tags Wlad in the third and wobbles him,but the Ukrainian gets extra minutes to change his trunks which he soils.Let off the hook Wlad goes backwards for 9 rds before finally wearing the Irish American down.

Ummm........there's the obvious choice that Wlad outjabs Conney and stops him late.

A few things; Wlad doesn't have the speed, movement and snappiness of jab that Holmes used to defeat Cooney for the first time.

I think Wlad, overtly cautious to start off with, is against a very big man that he will not be able to keep at bay as easy as say, Chagaev (Thompson was big but doesn't have the ferocity of Cooney I don't feel that's a valid comparison for the issue of size) and I think Cooney's gonna' throw bombs.

Mainly because a Klitschko will probably win this tournament I'll go for the underdog and say Cooney by an unlikely (but certainly possible) early stoppage, third round.

Cooney throws a punch, Wlad realize that he is facing a fighter who is actually willing to fight back. Wlad runs out of the ring, quits boxing, goes back to europe and takes more nude pics of him and Vitali hugging each other.

Cooney beats Wlad worse than Sanders does. Vitali and Wlad only looks good ( Wait they never look good) when they fight people who stand there and not fight back.

This one is really a tossup. Cooney has twice the power and skill of corrie sanders. If wlads at his best he should win but i say its 60/40.

Cooney has the Klitschko-nite......in that left hook of his. Cooney would win by early KO like Sanders did. No doubt in my mind at all, hell even old Cooney landed lefts on Foreman that would have stopped WALDO in his tracks, prime Cooney would have rocked WALDOS world.

    Cooney KO3.

    :good

Wlad 60/40 odds. And that might be generous.

    Always entertaining Chris.

One thing I've been wondering. Why do some people call Wlad "Vlad?" I don't get it, I'm sure there is a logical explanation there.

Changing my pick. I think Cooney's durability can out-last Wlad's stamina issues. Besides, Wlad hates pressure and Cooney has a wicked left hook. A big shot and Wlad is really done. Cooney 5th round KO.
