Prime for prime Sullivan is knocking a lot of guys from this era ranked outside the 20 out cold and early. I think Sharkey is one of them. Sullivan KO2 Sharkey, to fast, to relentless, to powerful.

I think Sharkey had too much skill and condition and Sullivan was hanicapped with the gloves. Sharkey gets wobled a few times but goes to Sullivans body well and starts to dominate with the jab, right hands and hooks all folowing the jab...Sharkey wins UD

I think John L would be right at home with the gloves. My pick is Sullivan by KO 6.

Sullivan would have beaten 99.9% of all of the heavyweights since him in a queensbury bout of six rounds or less or in a bareknuckle fight to the finish.

It is only in between these extremes that he is in uncharted teritory.

Sullivan at his peak was a wrecking machine. I sincerely believe that he was on a par with Jack Dempsey as a puncher and will provide detailed argument to this effect if people want to see it.

My guess is that between Sharkeys fragile psyche and Sullivans ring prowess, Sharkey gets stopped.

The best version of Sharkey lost to the worst version of Dempsey and would likley have lost to the best version of Sullivan.

    Sullivan KO 7

Sullivan fought with gloves ranging from none to 8oz gloves so he was prety versatile.
