Braddock smothers the Burns right hand and mauls and counters his way to a decision based upon sneak left hands and digging bodywork.

Incidently, I think Burns might be real trouble for Braddock over a longer distance, he might make bad trouble for Braddock over 20, a distance he did good work over.

    These fights are interesting.

The closest thing to Tommy Burns that existed during Braddock career was Mickey Walker who beat a lot of the top heavyweights. We should not rule out the possibility that Burns would have done the same.

Burns was an exceptional infighter who carried incredible power for a man his size. He could knock 200lb guys stiff.

The heavyweight who finaly put Walker in his place was Max Schmeling who was always rigourous in his preparations for fights and had seen enough eviodence of Walkers prowess to know that he had to take him seriously.

Jimmy Braddock would definitely give Burns the best version of Jimmy Braddock if Burns stood between him and something he wanted (and Braddock was not injured).

This would be one hell of an Irish brawl.

I am going to predict that Braddock woulddig deep and take control of the fight to win on the scorecards.

Burns was better. He was faster, hit harder, and had more skills on film.

Braddock was a quality journeyman with toughness. Burns was no journeyman.

The analogy between Walker and Burns is well taken , but Burns had serious pop in his right hand.It would only be a partial Irish brawl ,because Burns ,real name Noah Brusso, was French Canadian.I think I will go with Mendoza on this, Burns by decision, he was fast and shifty on his feet ,a good in fighter, and a rugged guy.Braddock did his best work against slower plodding heavies,Burns just might have his number but it would be close imo.

I think it is a close fight and a spirited affair. Braadock had the movement and Tommy would put on the pressure both men could take a solid shot and they both had some pop...I am going to lean with Burns to out work Braddock in a SD
