Max Schmelling in second round action after defeating the tough Billy Conn. Against "The Manassa Mauler" Who devistated Nicolay Valuev. A good technical boxer, against a high pressure infighter.

Please explain prediction. Please give predicted result.

    Round 2. 12 Rounds.

Dempsey by ko inside 9 rds,he trumps Max Baer's acheivment against Schmeling ,because he fought with much more intensity.
Schmeling timed the methodical Louis and countered his jab with right crosses ,he would have neither the time nor the opportunity to do that against the crouching ,bobbing and weaving two fisted Dempsey who would be on him from the word go.

I'm with my good Scottish friend Mcvey... Dempsey takes this one. Jack is too fast, powerful and aggressive for the black Ulan of the rhine.

THANKS, glad to have you in agreement.
ps. I am English actually, although my Mother's family originally came from Denmark, [ maiden name Haggar ] , and my Father's from Germany,[ name originally Raeder].
You must be confusing me with McGrain ,our Scottish poster, and I take that as a compliment.:good

I will go with Dempsey for prety much the reasons that McVea has out lined.

I do think that Schmelings sneaky right hand combined with the fact that Dempsey would be coming forward if he shipped it could make him a live underdog.

Schmeling gets underated quite bit because if you take the Louis win out of his resume ,it does not look awe inspiring, but he was a sound technician
.Mickey Walker said he was a murderous short puncher.
I dont underestimate Der Max, he could drop Dempsey with that right ,but I think Jack would crowd him and nullify his strengths.
Schmeling did not take chances ,he would gradually grind you down ,like a constant drip of water , eventually erodes a stone, he had Louis going several times ,in their first fight ,but didnt put his foot to the floor till he was sure there would be no sudden reprisals.Dempsey would not give him the luxury of taking his time.imo.

I see a prime Dempsey attacking Schmeling brutally, never giving Max a chance to get warmed up to the fight. I'm picking Jack to win this in 3 or less rounds.

    That's cool.. I didn't mean to be a *****.

On a different note, Mcvey is one of the best posters here. I am a little embarressed that I falsely guessed his national origin, but he knows more than most and is fairly easy to get along with... A fun guy.. I thought the hagar comparison was kinda cute..
