Boston is the site for this second rounds doubleheader. Two of Boston's favorite son's are featured here tonight. Rocky Marciano coming off of his slaughter of Nicolay Valuev will be facing off against the tough "Polish Express" Andrew Golota. & Boston strongman John L. Sullivan will be facing Tommy Morrison.

Golota comes out boxing, trying to use his size advantage. keeping marciano at bay with his long jab. It doesn't take Rocky long to burrow inside & land hooks to the body. In the early going Golota is catching Marciano coming in. Rocky just keep coming in though & it starts to wear on Golota in the Mid rounds. Golota is starting to take heavy shots & is starting to retaliat with some questionable shots. The referee warns Andrew The Rock responds with a few Elbows & it's getting nasty in there! A hard right staggers Golota in the Tenth & he is now content to last the distance.

ROCKY MARCIANO. 12 DEC. ANDREW GOLOTA
    117-113 MARCIANO, 116-114 MARCIANO, 118-114 MARCIANO.

Tommy Morrison rushes out to tries & catch Sullivan early. A right lands, followed by a left hook to the body. Sullivan is taking these shots well. Sullivan starts to open up in the third. A short left hook wobbles Morrison. Morrison fights back & backs Sullivan up. In the fourth Sullivan again lands a hard left hook. This time Tommy is badly hurt! Sullivan moves in and lands another crunching shot, a short right. Morrison is down! & is not going to beat the count!

JOHN L. SULLIVAN. 4 KO. TOMMY MORRISON

John vs Rock in this next matchup? 12 rounds Rock would just be right in his chest busting him up. Sullivan can't match the pace even if he used to 40 rounds (Albeit low activity of 40 rounds).

That will be an interesting one for sure.

I will probably write a detailed comparison of the strengths and weakneses of both fighters.

You are a man of detail and precision! I'm sure that would be a great writeup.

That would sure be an interesting match, But Alas both are sceduled with different opponents for round three. But they still could very well meet. The field is down to eight.
& from here on out. All bouts are fifteen rounds.
