Madison Square Garden is the site for this semifinal bout of the heavyweight Tournament. Rocky Marciano is eager to get started & doesn't seem intimidated by the massive Vitali Klitschko. Klitschko comes out establishing the jab. Marciano takes a couple of rounds trying to figure out the best avenue of attack. He decides on the body early on and is taking shots in return. Vitali looks confident as he is attacking beind the jab. A cut is opened up on Marciano's left eyelid in the fourth. It doen't seem to bad of a cut. Rocky is starting to let his hands go a bit more in the mid rounds. In the seventh Marciano is attacking and Klitschko is firing back. A hard right by Marciano, opens a big gash on Vitali's left eyelid! Klitschko is backing up behind the jab & Marciano is attacking with both hands trying to change the momentum of the fight. In the later rounds Rocky is forcing the action & there are many spirited exchanges! Klitschko is not used to being so boldly attacked. A lft hook by Vitali now opens up a cut on Rocky's right eye! At the end of the 12th, the ring doctor is examining Rocky's cuts. He allows Rocky to continue! Rocky rushes out for the 13th! A hard right hand stuns Klitschko!
