Lewis did take place in a WBC eliminator bout against Ruddock if I am correct. Bowe then disgarded his belt in a cowardly fashion so naturally they should have had a fight for said belt between two top contenders, say Lewis vs Ruddock. I think Lewis' situation is understandable. Edit: Unfortunately I can't comment on Norton because I don't know about his story/situation.
one of norton's fights was RETROACTIVELY classified as an eliminator. when leon spinks refused to fight him, the wbc stripped him and gave norton the belt. the fight was not intended to be an eliminator and though he deserved it, he should not have been champion edit: his fight with jimmy young was an eliminator for a shot at spinks but they retroactively sanctioned it a title fight
Norton was one of the biggest over hyped bums in boxing history. with a chin like rotten wood, you could count the seconds he would stay in the ring with any good puncher.
Valuev was given the WBA title without fighting, he was so afraid of losing again to Chagaev he had to stage the fight in Finland where he could refuse to take a simple vaccination and walk away with a paper title.
Ken Norton -1978, Spinks refused to fight him because he knew he would lose, and Norton lost it to Holmes in a very close fight.. Bowe was a dumb**** threw the belt in the can, and fought jesse ferguson:barf, Lewis would have beat his ass just like in the Olympics..
**** you, you're an awful poster. Double **** you! He is the people's champion emeritus. Learn some respect!
