Look how sharp heavyweights used to look in the 90s:

Makes the modern fat **** heavyweights look like amateurs. Looking at Lewis and Ruddock in this fight, they have the speed and sharpness of modern middleweights.

Things are looking better though. When I first got heavy into the sport, the top heavys after Wlad were Maskaev, Ibragimov, Valuev and Chagaev.

Now we have Haye and Adamek at least. If only these mother****ers would FIGHT EACH OTHER!

Lennox was a lot lighter in that vid than he was when at his peak.By the late 90s he was at least 14lb heavier.Yes the guys in the early 90s were faster than todays crop of heavy weights but compared to some of the 80s lot you cant call todays guys fat,big and ponderous yes but they are usually in half decent shape.

One big difference - amateur experience.

Too many guys these days don't seem to have it, or not much of it. It's a crucial thing, and something that's a big part of the reason the Klitschkos rule the roost these days. Even your basic bangers in the 90s tended to have an amateur backing.

    The craft is lacking...

Obviously 26yo Lennox is better than 26yo Vitali or Wlad, much better.

Thats because the Am's has been seriously watered down. Especially at the Olympic level by the IOC. To be honest gold medals mean very little now as the action may as well be non contact.

For my money, Vitali would've beaten Ruddock. Apart from that, noone.
