Also it would have been interesting to hear the opinions of Bowe, Mercer and Morrison on facing Tyson. Was this video before or after the Tyson/Ruddock fight?
Video says it was 1991 and Ruddock 2 was in 1992 Lou Duva mentioning Tyson wont be around for longer. Obviously he means Holyfield would beat Tyson. an interesting question is where woudl Tyson have gone, say he Loses to holyfield in 1992 (and didnt go to prison)???

Well if he gave Holy a great close war & lost, then he might get an immediate rematch, unless he was still with Don King, who might choose to make him fight some other people on Don King Productions fight cards, for the financial benefit of Don King. Other options are: 1. Fight Riddick Bowe for another title shot at Holy. 2. Fight Lennox Lewis for another title shot at Holy, but end up fight Bowe for the titles instead, because Riddick has dethroned Holy. 3. Fight George Foreman for another title shot at Holy, but end up fight Bowe for the titles instead, because Riddick has dethroned Holy. Note: The problem with fighting Lewis or Foreman is, if Tyson was still be Don King, they would both refuse sign the contract due to the Don King management options that King would have over them for their next few fights (as Foreman refused 3 times in real life & Lewis refused once), if they won. Ultimately then, the most likely situation is Tyson still being with King, fighting Bowe & getting another crack at Holy. However, i would favour Bowe in '92. So what happens after Tyson has lost twice in a row (to Holy & Bowe)? Well i say he might leave Don King, & thus get a fight with Lewis or Foreman, for a last chance at the titles...
Holmes wanted to fight Foreman in the 1990's. It was Foreman who kept declining the fight. This is Holmes way of calling Foreman out.
No mention of the great James Douglas? Only Morrison mentioned Lennox Lewis. That's how unknown I remember him being back then just as Douglas win over Tyson being a total fluke. Bowes picks were the most realistic.
Tyson's skills were deteriorated but he still had enough to beat most of the guys in the division. Riddick Bowe would have been the biggest threat to Tyson.
Douglas was assumed to be retired at the time, and about 100 pounds over fighting weight. Yeah, Lewis was not given much coverage in the US at the time. His win over Gary Mason was significant in UK, but an ancient Mike Weaver was his only recognized American name and fight on American soil. Slightly unfair probably, considering Mason was easily as decent as most the guys the young Americans had beat. I liked Witherspoon's list.
Thats how i feel, i think he would have beat them all. Bowe was on fire at the time and i feel he had the kryptonite to Tyson (moreso than Holyfield) Thats if Bowe decides to box, if he gets caught up in a war, then its lights out
