This, pretty much, although there's also the likes of Deontay Wilder, who's probably a little light if anything, for his height. Not that it matters, the bums he's facing. Tyson Fury doesn't need to lose any weight either, he just needs to tone up and build up muscle. Looking like Enzo Macc he's gonna be found out sooner or later.
wow holy **** he's skinny there. Arreola should have been a cruiserweight. With his tv-friendly personality he could have made the division a success and with his size and amateur pedigree he would have been tough to beat as a cruiser.
Arreola and Solis are the obvious candidates. They're both grossly out of shape and look to have a thoroughly unprofessional attitude towards their training and conditioning. I'm frankly disgusted that either of these two men ever dared step foot in a ring and fight for world titles looking like they do. Chisora's not really fat, but he's far too bulky for a six foot one inch guy. No one that height should weigh in the mid 240s, especially not someone with crude skills like his. Helenius looks very soft and undefined, but that could just be his bodytype. Still would like to see him lose a few pounds and shed a bit of the babyfat. Chambers could probably fight at Cruiserweight, but why should he? The dude's got the skills to compete with anyone outside the Klits. Adamek needs to shed the muscle and get back down to around 210 - 215lbs. It does absolutely nothing for him to weigh in in the mid 220s. Pulev needs to stop yo-yoing in weight every fight and come in around 230 - 225. Povetkin should be around 210 -215 ideally. He's little bigger than Jerry Quarry frame-wise.
No he shouldn't. For his frame he should be in the 230s at most, ideally mid 220s. The only fighters who should naturally be in the 240s are over six and a half feet tall. See above.
Povetkin Solis Arreola Chambers Chisora Fury Helenius Thompson Chagaev Stivern Kevin Johnson Mike Perez James Toney Skelton Rossy man there's only like 5-6 decent heavy's that are in shape.
Clueless boxing fans. I suspect a large portion of posts in this thread have never seen boxers in person. I'd say people who have actually seen Helenius in person would say he is thin or skinny. Gil Clancy once commented that old time boxing trainers believed that a fighter with a midsection like Vladimir Klitschko or Evander Holyfield could not endure body punches as well as a boxer like Chagaev or Sultan Ibragimov. Flabby looking heavyweights are nothing new. Even some considered ATGs were flabby for many years of their careers. Two Ton Tony Galento, James Broad, Greg Page, Francesco Damiani would never win a body-building contest; Larry Holmes & Ali couldn't win a Mr. Universe title either Body builders seem to have super-ripped abs because they are often dehydrated. You can't dehydrate in boxing if there's away around it and heavyweights don't have a weight limit to meet. I don't think Povetkin, Chageav or Helenius are fat. They just don't have 6 pack abs. I see "fat" when I see double chins and manboobs.
That bit isn't true. They're just not visible. No serious top 100 boxer has no 6 pack abs. That would be like claiming this guy has weak abdominal muscles. This content is protected [/IMG]
Then I'd say it's you who's clueless. Neither of the above will ever be particularly chiseled, but they're clearly carrying more weight than is necessary. Chagaev's been overweight for his last few fights now, and Povetkin was clearly overweight in his fight against Huck, for which he suffered. This isn't a matter of ripped six pack abs, it's a matter of being considerably heavier than fighters of the past at the same height and frame-size. People haven't magically got broader or denser in the last few years, they've just got lazier, and it's sad that it's got to the point when fans consider a fighter like Chisora 'in shape' at 245lbs.
I saw him at a fight card a couple of weeks back, and he looked trimmer than I've seen him in years. Not this trim, but a bit better than the Aguilara fight. Cris had serious potential when he turned pro. SoCal fight fans are pretty knowledgeable, and we looked at him as a future champ. Hopefully, someday we're right.
