Hide actually knocked out someone in 1 round and it took Wilder 2 rounds to do it and the guy was way washed up when Wilder fought him

I really liked Hide's style, he was a boxer-puncher, but his punches were powerful almost entirely due to the snap and twist he put on them. He didn't have the mass to crush opponents with his shots, but the whipping way he threw them could cause serious damage.

That said, Wilder might get hurt early on but eventually he'd catch up with Herbie. 6 rounds, and Herbie might go down for the 10 count.

I’m going with Wilder by virtue of his height, reach and better chin. Good fight for about 3-4 rounds though

I can definitely see Hide befuddling Deontay early on, perhaps even rocking him a bit. But the variables you mentioned would have a big influence on the outcome. Herbie would eventually get caught, and Wilder hit even harder than Bowe.

Wilder wins this by KO but Hide would probably be ahead in the scores.

Good fight. Wilder comes back from behind to Ko Hide.
    I don't see it going past 6.

Maybe hide has more skill than wilder or it was a styles thing.

Fans need to stop this abc logic. Finishing someone a mere 1 round faster is not some sort of crystal clear indicator of who hits harder.

I know it doesn't matter, I just thought I'd point it out,
It's probably because the guy is similar height to Hide, 6'2 and with Wilder who is 6'7, it's sometimes harder to find the gaps on such a smaller opponent

    Wilder would destroy Hide.

True, punching down can be awkward. That's why it's better to develop an uppercut and punch up when facing a short guy.

Hide always fought upright with his head sticking up.

Hide also moved around a lot against Bowe and has some pretty good punching power to dish out himself. That would be tricky for Wilder but i rekon he takes him out in 8

That would make him even MORE vulnerable to an uppercut from a much taller man than if he was crouching and using head movement.

A short heavyweight standing tall with his chin sticking out may as well draw a bullseye target.

The only problem is Wilder's uppercut is rather inconsistent and often mediocre outside of the 1st Ortiz fight. Someone like Joshua would have a field day with Hide.
