I would favor the 1987 140 lb. version of Camacho over any version of Tzyu. The later version of Camacho that lost to Chavez would lose a UD to Kostya, although he would win some rounds.
Camacho by decision but I'm not sure he does it easily. I believe Kostya would bring pressure to him and make him uncomfortable .But I see Hector s speed and agility being the deciding factor.
I'm going with Tzyu in this one. I think he buzzes Camacho a few times on the way to a decision. Camacho was more cautious after the Rosario fight. Tyzu was a natural 140.
Camacho has very little on his ledger at 140 and KT's punching power will have him extremely careful and fighting for survival at this stage.
The Howard Davis fight in early '87 showed Camacho had a lot left. True, Davis wasn't a big puncher. Camacho would be somewhat safety conscious, so it probably would not be an exiciting fight. But he had the movement, foot speed and hand speed to throw off the rhythm of the powerful, yet straight ahead and defensively deficient Tzyu. Camacho has the advantage in hand and foot speed, defense and ring generalship. The only advantage Tzyu has is power. Kostya is not the fighter that a prime and motivated Edwin Rosario was. 1987 Camacho boxes to a safety first UD.
We'll agree to disagree. Camacho beat a light hitting Davis who seemed to be strangely off his game. I know he claimed hospitalization pre bout. Macho wasn't all that at 140 as we saw via performances. Post Rosario he didn't overly have the mojo or feel for it like he had and up against an ATG powerpunching natural 140 pounder he's going to get found out. KT is no Mancini that's for sure.
You make good points. Sometimes valid arguments can be made either way. It would be boring if we agreed on everything.
For sure buddy. There isn't really that much we disagree on. Mainly probably 4 or so fighters and virtually everything else we align on or close. We all put forth our stuff and others uncertain can form their own opinions then or at other times ourselves.
