How does the young, ultra-fast, Camacho of the mid 80s fare against the bigger, more powerful, somewhat green De La Hoya of 1995 at 135 lbs?

Close fight but Oscar's firepower will eventually put Camacho in his place (running, trying to survive, not seriously engaging).

    Oscar 7-5 or 8-4.

I like Camacho here. His speed befuddles Oscar by comfortable UD.

The 135 lb Camacho was a completely different animal from the faded version that Oscar outpointed, esp. the pre-Rosario version..Camacho outpoints and outspeeds Oscar.

Camacho was good but not great. When he fought prime guys he lost everytime and without question. I thought he showed great promise at 130 and later at 135 a little, but his career lacks the great great wins.

You can say the same thing about Oscar. I think Macho Man outboxes Oscar for a clear decision, heh as so much more speed, better movement, better boxing skills. Camacho brings the same problem Mosley did but with more boxing skill. Oscar was also pretty raw and 1 handed at 135

Hector did not have much power at lightweight. Oscar had more power with that left hook and Hector was afraid of being hit after Rosario. I see Oscar being more busy and using what I think was a great fighter mindset to outpoint Camacho. Camacho lacks a great fighters mindset. Regardless of anything else, Oscar had the mentality of a great fighter and I think he always beats Hector.
