I don't buy the notion that he lost that much between those two fights....my guess would be it just took a while for Camachos failings to show. That's true of slick boxers...a guy like hatton, you can see his flaws even when he whips someones ass...a guy like Camacho, you don't see their failings till they lose or are in a tough fight.
Well Davis was Camacho's 18th fight, the first Haugen fight, a loss for Camacho was his 25th fight. Are you really trying to say that Camacho lost that much in 7 fights while still in his prime (even though he went on to have many many more fights and wins). Or are you just trying to rationalize the nation that Camacho is superior to hatton, in spite of the records not showing it.
Would be a good fight, i think it's winnable fr Hatton. I don't rate either man in any special way, and Hatton was good at this weight, it must b said. Could go either way, probably be an entertaining fight as well.
He's always been underrated by people like you who always harp on the "tough guy brawler" stuff, but his fight vs Jimmy Paul proved otherwise, as did his 2nd fight with Paz. Hatton is also overrated here.
this is a close fight and could go either way but i would edge toward camacho slightly but it is definately a fight hatton could win
Haughen at his best showed he could adapt...but neither he nor hatton would ever be mistaken for Ali....having said that, I'm more impressed with what hatton did with Urango then anything haughen did.
Haugen was much better at mid and long range than Hatton. Haugen at least had a fighting chance with Camacho on the outside. Hatton would have none and would need to track Camacho down and get on the inside to get anything accomplished - a task that guys like Boza-Edwards, Baltazar and Mancini had varying success with, but nothing enough to honestly trouble Hector. Johnstown, do you really think Hatton was more impressive against Urango than Haugen was against Paul and Pazienza in the rematch?
Yes. Theres a very clear differance in speed and reflex between the two versions. And its not a short window of time either. Camacho fought Davis 4 years before he lost to Haugen! Hows that a short window?
Urango was probably Hatton's most sloppy performance. If your impressed by holding and grappling then you'll love that fight. And its not that hard to outbox Urango.
You know he would.Hatton does what ever it takes to win.thats his game,to pressure, frusterate, tie up,body shots, use his fast pace, fast feet and fast hands to mentally and physically wear down apponents.paulie seemed more comfortable in there with cotto than he was with hatton.remember the look on paulies face from round one on?i know camacho is much better than malignaggi but you get my point.
None of those guys had the fast feet, fast hands, physical strength, and body punching hatton had.Hatton is a completely different kind of fighter than those you mentioned.Camacho is no pacquiao or floyd mayweather.
