For real. No one in history was ever "much faster" than 130-135 lb. Camacho. If anyone was faster, it was by a slight margin. Mosley probably wasn't faster than Camacho anyway. As for the fight, I don't know. I can see Camacho winning a decision by landing these quick punches down the middle and using lots of movement. On the other hand, I can see Mosley landing some hard shots and Camacho going into survival mode, and Shane wins a decision. Both fighters actually had that tendency to go into defensive shells when they took leather, but with Camacho it was worse. Mosley could at times look discouraged from eating leather and look for one bomb, but sometimes he'd snap out of it and rally.
Incredible battle. Can't believe this has never crossed my mind. Camacho may be faster than Mosley but Mosley's got some pop to his speed. Power that Camacho wouldn't have seen other than against Chapo. Both possess great chins. But the one thing I didn't like about either guy is they struggled when facing that wall. Mosley didn't have the heart I though he possessed in both fights with Forrest and both fights with Wright. And of course we know Camacho got shook and was never the same after Chapo plastered his trademark all over Macho Man's face. Hard to pick a winner here. But both at their best I lean slightly towards The Macho Man.
Wow. I usually read every post before I post but I must've skipped this one. You worded it better than I could - both men being discouraged when getting hit. Well done!
Bump. This would have been interesting considering how fast and explosive Shane Mosley was at 135. Mosley has the power to make Camacho flee while Camacho has the faster feet to outbox Mosley. Might have to take Camacho on points in a close fight.
Tough fight to call with good reason, probably no wrong answer her but I lean towards Mosely, but have no qualms with a prediction of a Camacho win.
I lean towards Mosley, he was stronger. Both very fast. But Mosley would be able to force a fight at times and that will be the difference.
I'll take Sugar Shane but not with much confidence. Camacho had the speed, awkwardness, and silky southpaw skills, but Mosley was just so powerful and physically strong at 135. Prime Mosley was an absolute menace on the LW division of his time and is a hard night out for any LW ATG imo. I think Shane has a better time dealing with Macho's power than Macho does with Shane's but both men were tight defensively and did have more than solid chins. This is a really good hypothetical matchup and is a real head-scratcher I gotta say. If Mosley can start landing, I think Macho probably gets discouraged allowing Mosley to take the initiative but Macho rallies in the later rounds to make it a tight decision for Shane.
I have the same call, Mosley narrowly. Early running in the predictions was all Camacho but the board seems to be split now. Great fight.
