I would probably take the early, confidant combo punching welter Mosley. Lewis had mad skills but maybe to conservative and average of punch to get the decision here.
Yep, it's a short window for Mosley to get the job done but it's definitely possible. I could see him taking close rounds by landing one or two hard shots and it might **** Lewis up some. But what if he's just a little too slick early?
Well Ernie Lopez was twice able to come back from being outclassed in the early rounds against Lewis. He wasn't as quick as Shane or as fluid with his hands, though probably a harder puncher and more of a trier. Both have a lot of tools that would bother the other, but i think i lean towards Mosley being a bit too busy, heavy handed and fast, if at his very best. lewis was a classy stylist, but not too durable and light-punching.If Mosley really wants it he should be able to force the fight on him enough to grind it out. then again i remember how unspectacular Mosley looked against Rivera and the trouble he had getting off when Oscar didn't just trade with him first time around.Could be very close if he lets Lewis get settled into a rhythm and dictate range.
This thread is unfair. A modern legend and ATG P4P great against a mere contender from the 70s puts the retro chic among us in a bad position. We have to pick the noob or come across as 'haters'. Mosley via mid-rounds stoppage, he was naturally bigger than Napoles.
Lewis always found a way to blow his opportunities, he simply was not in Mosley's league. Lewis would do well to survive beyond the tenth.
