Most people buying Smith Eubank would be for the main event. Letting Chelli Heffron be chief support on a separate show would boost Chelli's profile much more. On the Smith Eubank card he'll be before the main event, Marshall and Tasha Jonas.
Let's hope it's true because they really have the potential to make some interesting fights together.
Boxxer don’t have enough fights or fighters to headline others cards or stack a card so it looks PPV. In fairness this is scratching at PPV in the first place they need to sell a big arena and PPVs and it must be bloody hard with that Stable. I’m fairness Sky would be better off saying we will invest and No PPV for 12 months with the aim at getting eyes and building it. for instance Okolie vs Riakporhe is already signed as a PPV that is insane as it will literally do 50k buys at a push. So they have to stick all of the boxers not names buatsi on the undercard
It seems to me Sky don't especially want to invest much more in Boxxer so PPV is their way of de-risking commitments. Even 25,000 buys puts a good chunk in the pot but neither boxer will be retiring on it.
Shame it's on a PPV show, as fewer people will see what is, in reality, a terrific trade fight. Heffron can punch, and is seasoned, while Chelli is on a roll, this can't fail to be an absolute barnstorming fight.
Heffron beats Chelli, I'd say. I really like Heffron. Did well against Lennox Clarke at the Copperbox. I remember going to watch it live and thought Lennox would win it but Heffron won with ease in the end.
Boxxer should push to get Riakporhe to fight on the undercard, make it a stronger PPV worthy event than just a subpar main event. Breidis hasnt fought in about a year….
No need, the York Hall sold out on day 1. I only know this as Callum Simpson is on that card and I wanted to watch ( not often as a Barnsley fan you get to watch a fellow Barnsley lad in Boxing). I think Smith v Eubank is a good fight but PPV is a push and a decent card is needed to help, and this along with the Marshall fight are quality additions that now make it a much more appealing event to purchase
Ye I'm picking Mark too. Think his experience and better team will be the difference here. I agree that both are limited technically but both have British level power and could score a ko on either opponent. Think Mark does well locally with tickets altho he had never made a massive name for himself he does enough to get some kind of traction off a good win here. Think Joe G is a good fit for Heffron and someone like Mark fits into the Gallaghers way of doing things better than most tbh
