Heffron v Williams

Totally agree. If the Williams of the first Smith fight turns up I think he beats him. I hope that first Smith fight didn’t take too much out of Williams because he looked tentative in the second fight. This was so strange considering he won everything for the first 6 rounds.

 

I’m going for Heffron by late stoppage.

 

Heffron’s somewhat unproven but i don’t think Williams who is already stepping up in weight thrives in being in the trenches. Can see him getting stopped here.

 

Looking good, knocking cans over, is a different game to fighting a live dog.
As has been mentioned, Mark hasn't been in a competitive fight yet but everyone has to start somewhere I suppose and I reckon this is the one where we find out how good Mark is.
He has the size and power advantage over Williams but Liam has the experience and maybe a slightly better punch selection.
I have a friend who has sparred Mark a few times and he said, that he does carry good power and that Mark is the only person he had to be weary of not getting caught clean, especially early on.
Tactics and strategy is going to be the deciding factor here I reckon. If Williams is disciplined he will win. but if he starts having a tear up it will be his undoing.
Really looking fwd to this fight. I went down to Smith v Williams 1 with a few friends, that was a great fight we were all on our feet going mental. I can see the same happening here.
I'm going with Mark.

 

I wouldn’t want to bet on this fight but I’m picking heffron based mainly on his good jab, he hits hard and has never lost.

I thought Elliot Matthews was due a shot at the British title soon?

 

Like some have said Marks not really fought anyone yet. But he looks the part. Holds a few advantages over Williams in terms of size as well.
Williams was boxing beautifully at times V Smith but then unraveled after an awful headbutt then got pulled out. 2nd fight he just didn't seem to have the same "dog" in him. Like he was OK to loose really strange.

If Mark starts landing early he can take control - i think he's a decent rather than great puncher but at at domestic level he can bang.
Williams is a good operator but he doesn't move his head much - against a puncher that's not going to be in his favor. He's lost twice has an early draw in his career as well - he might have reached his level as a British level fighter and his opposition since his two losses is poor which makes me question a few things as well.

Could be the fight of the night this.

 

Very talented lad but seems to lack heart. I did look at the odds myself and thought the price on Williams was tasty but when it gets tough is he gona break down again or was that caused by Smith getting in his head?

 

looking forward to this one -- i am picking Williams on experience and I think Heffron may not have the heart when it gets tough in there. Reminds me of Cox a bit

 

Williams clearly the better all round fighter and could and really should do a number on Heffron. That being said I think if Mark can get into Williams’ head he could break him mentally and possibly pull out a late stoppage with Williams ahead on the cards

 

Agree I have to go with Williams in this one.

Unless it goes to the cards and there is some major corruption going on, which is actually fairly likely. Williams has all the tools and experience to win this one though on the real scorecards of public opinion.

 

This could be fight of the evening across the two cards.

 

Have to admit never seen Heffron box but heard good things. Williams is a solid British/euro level fighter but moving up in weight.Although he was a big light middle so should be interesting

 

Heffron should stop him.
