Two things......the people who call Dimitrenko **** are basically simply Klitschko haters discounting him before his title shot. He is ANYTHING but slow. He's like 6'7 and dances like he thinks he's ALI or something. His problem is not being slow, but rather his utter lack of upper body strength and **** poor defense. A soft jab does not make for a good defense, even if your'e putting out there 50X/round. The second thing is that this fight aint happening for multiple reasons. One being that while Chambers popped Dimi's cherry a couple yrs back, he has still come on strong with some decent if not spectacular wins. He's ranked by most of the ABCs and he's gonna get paid b4 being exposed as a weak HW. Fighting Helenius at this point would removed the mystery of his abilities as Robbe would shatter his jaw in the first 6-7 rounds. If this fight were to be mandated, you could expect to see Helenius fighting Chagaev on that exact date for the VACANT EBU title.:deal
Great match, but since Dimitrenko is now exposed ( by Sprott ) it is a little less valid then what it would have been 3 weeks ago. Still, Good level of fight against a good contender for Helenius, whp looked great against Sammy Peter and Liakhovich. So I think he beats Dimitrenko by 8th Round TKO
I'd favor Chagaev just to see Helenius fight a prime contender and former champion. McCall appears to be looking to KTFO Meehan and get a shot at Potvekin next yr. OMG......looks like McCalls gonna get paid. Potvetkins defense list will look like a registry for a nursing home. Holyfield 50 Rahman 40 McCall 47 Hell, throw the Boz a bone while he's at it.
i agree! but you know **** like that aint gonna happen...not in this day and time...helenius vs chagaev would be a good match up...but in order for it to get made, it would be treated like fight of the century.... i just want to see mcall fight a top 10 guy who can punch...just for the freakshow factor...anyone but dimentriniko who eddie chambers dismantled and i just want meehan to just go the **** away!
No. We're people with eyes who can make informed decisions on what we see. If he was any good I would say it. He's terrible.
I really don't think Dimitrenko will take this. I think he knows he will lose to Helenius so will now push for a Klitschko fight and of course get destroyed but make ten times the money.
Not a bad fight but I'm skeptical Dimitrenko takes it. This would be a decent opponent for Helenius, Dimitrenko is a top 15-20 heavyweight and would be a guy close to his peak for a change. I would favor both Liakovich and Peter to beat Dimitrenko but they are on the slide while Dimitrenko is much closer to his so thats a positive. Obviously, I'd rather see Helenius mxing it up with guys like Haye, Chagaev, Adamek, etc but Dimitrenko is fine for now, if it ever happens. Helenius by ko.
I would hate to see Helenius schooled but he can blow away Dimitrenko at any given time if the ukrainian gets bold.
title fight you mean European Title fight which is a serious fight Seeing as Helenius struggles vs jabbers Dimitrenko is big and young unlike his last few foes i could see him winning early then Helenius scores a come from behind KO in the 8th or 9th like Liahovich fight good opponent for Helenius the young EBU champ good foe for Dimitrenko who in my eyes doesnt take good enough fights
