Helenius vs Sherman Williams

Good fight things considered.

 

decent comeback fight...should beat the tank with ease..

or maybe will he get chinned untill sherman gasses then knock him out like he normally does lol...

Good fight for Helenius I think. Not very likely Sherman will win, but he could get lucky. Helenius need to show where he is at after the injury. That means a good opponent, but not too good. Sherman sounds perfect to me.

If he is supposed to mix it with the really good guys, he needs to dispose of Sherman quite impressively.

Don't be paranoid, I'm fairly objective on most boxers, it's you who is too sensitive when I criticize boxers you like. I still believe Helenius is technically poor but devastating power at HW goes a long way. Don't forget that he was losing on most cards on ESB against Liahkovic at the time of the stoppage and also the Peter fight was very close. Unless he faces boxers who are too old and slow to dodge his telegraphed punches, he'll be in deep trouble again. In fact, I believe he'd lose 9 out of 10 against Chisora.

That said, Williams is an okayish opponent. He was on his way to stopping Holyfield and his recent win over Welliver looked easy. William's chin is solid as well so we'll see if Helenius cracks that.

 

i disagree...helinius is rusty and hasnt fought in 1 yr.... with major injuries......... good match as long as hes back in the ring in january againt a credible opponet

 

Decent fight for short notice, coming off a long injury forced layoff, and having lost his last 12 rounds in a boxing ring (seriously, he didn't win a round off Chisora and there may have been two rounds tops that were even close).

Sherman Williams did look somewhat impressive for what he is, even if it was against a 73 year old Holyfield.

 

Not a terrible fight.Especially when considering that Helenius has had a Long lay off/while nurturing a serious Injury. chances are it will be competitive before Helenius takes over and stops Williams in the middle rounds.

 

It's not great but if a fighter has had such a long time out it's to be expected that he takes a fairly easy fight.

Glad to have Helenius back! Would love to see him against one of the many undefeated, and untested American prospects.
