Wlad dominated, and is on his way to clearing out the division. Best heavyweight out there right now by far.

What utter bull****. The fact that Holmes relied on a sharp jab doesn't automatically lump him in with Klitschko, especially after a performance like that. He pumped the jab out, and looked to beat you up with sharp punches, not fight extremely conservatively like Wlad just did.

Good to see someone understands the fight for what it was, the death squad is out in full force tonight, insults flying everywhere, pretty pathetic.

I love how people are blaming this on Wlad too. Wlad stalked Sultan the entire fight, and Sultan was bent down to Wlad's waist level, leaned backwards and to the side. What the hell was Wlad supposed to do? Leg kicks? He took advantage of everything that he had, and kept his composure, just like he should.

Why don't you guys blame Sultan for not bringing the fight to Wlad? Wlad didn't need to take all of the chances, he was dominating. Sultan held the responsibility of trying to make something happen. Yet, he waited for Wlad to throw at him over and over and over... only to throw a couple haymakers and go back into defensive mode. Notice in the 11th when Sultan brought it to Wlad... and almost got hit block knocked off? Wlad was there for the fight, and Sultan didn't bring it.

He lost at most 1 round against an undefeated beltholder.... a boring fight, but i Wlad hardly got tagged at all. I don't see how that is not a great performance. It was a master boxing clinic; he didn't give Sultan any chance. Sultan was the entire fight on the back foot and looking to counter punch. Wlad shut him down.

I have to ask did you two guys take the same attitude when Lewis decisioned Tua? Or were you on here slagging him off for being boring? I'm guessing the latter.

Boring? Yes. Dominance? Yes. He dominated an undefeated belt holder. Wlad is clearly the most talented heavyweight in the division. :yep

I saw the fight the exact same way, people expect Wlad to jump all over a reluctant, turtled Ibragimov which is really the only way he could've lost the fight tonight. Sultan was scared of getting KO'd and was just hoping Wlad would make a stupid mistake and catch him with something. Wlad dominated the fight the only way he was given, at a distance with the jab.

What the hell is your point? Was Wlad vs Byrd a carbon copy? Was Wlad vs 44 of his other opponents a carbon copy of this fight?

The point is that you guys try to judge a fighter based on one DOMINATION because it went the distance. It's pathetic. The man just completely dominated an undefeated Champion, and unified titiles. Holmes, Ali, and Lennox have all won fights the exact same way... and yet they are not judged by those single fights. That is because people in the real world realize that when you fight all comers, you are going to have style clashes, and some fights are going to go like this. The point is to adjust, win, and move on. Not every fight needs to be a highlight reel. Isn't as if Wladimir hasn't given us enough great knockouts over the years.

I wish all the experts posting "Wlad Sucks" would realize that boxing is about offense and a thing called defense. Lets look at the facts: 1. Wlad was in against a known KO artist. 2. Wlad was in against a southpaw. 3. Wlad was in against a guy with very fast hands. 4. Wlad was in against a guy who counter punches for a living. 5. Wlad was in against a guy with a proven steel jaw.

The last guy to have all of these qualities that Wlad fought was : Corrie Sanders.

So anyone who knows boxing will conclude that Wlad fought the perfect fight against a person with all of the above qualities. Wlad did everything right and didn't drop his defense once. There is nothing, and I mean nothing wrong with that. I will say that Sultan is a tough son of a gun. Those punches would have ko'd anyone else. But he hung in there.

I must agree. The man is scared and won't exchange.
It was a horrible fight against an above average fighter.
I have stuck up for him before, but he doesn't have it.
He was pathetic against this tomato can.
    Wlad is one scared ******.

Very, very competent and domineering performance by Vlad. Not a spectacular knockout, but very impressive still.

Klitschko is a smart fighter who deserves to be regarded as a near all-time great heavyweight. He's not in the same category as Louis, Holmes, Ali or Tyson, but he is definitely in the next category below them. Not too shabby.
