Why does Wlad need to make it a quick night? He hasn't done that before? He isn't allowed to win decisions?

It is you who hasn't seen Larry Holmes fights beccause if you had you wouldn't make such a comment. Holmes had some incredible fights, his entertainment value as a fighter was good he was not a boring champion. His fights with Ken Norton, Ernie Shavers 2, Gerry Cooney, Tim Witherspoon all had good amount of action in them. His fight with Renaldo Snipes wasn't a stinker by no means. Holmes had some great fights don't put him in the same class as Wlad. By the way i aint no joke i have all these fights at the tip of my finger i have a massive boxing collection i can upload them to youtube to prove my point if it you want.

I liked this fight. It was a clinic.
he shouldn't have apologized for not getting a KO.

I regard Holmes as being one of history's top five heavies ever, yet even he put on so-called "stinker" performances sometimes. I know this because I followed his fights closely back them.

Larry was unimpressive in winning a decision against Trevor Berbick. The Snipes fight left something to be desired. He did not look awesome against Lucien Rodriquez. These are just three examples.

Yet in retrospect, it's clear that Holmes was great, even in spite of the criticism he garnered in these bouts.

Vlad's critics are being totally unreasonable. Tonight he put on a clinic against a formidable opponent. Not exciting to watch, but effective as hell.

Please. The big difference between Holmes and Waldo is that Holmes in his prime got off the canvas to win. Waldo has done that once, and managed to grab almost 100 times in those 12 rounds.

Don't compare the two. Really, just don't.

Actually, Wlad has gotten off of the canvas to win in three different fights. What's your point anyways? That Wlad should have been knocked down in this fight?:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

The point obviously went over your head. You named 5 or 6 fights, and the man has fought about 60 times. Get the point yet? Wlad has had GREAT knockouts, and very exciting fights to watch as well. This is only the second fight in the last 7 years that went the distance for god's sake.

    You totally miss my point.

I am not saying that Vlad is in the same league as Holmes, ability-wise. Not at all.

I am merely saying that just because Vlad fought a boring tactical fight, that doesn't make him bad. After all, even Holmes himself did the same very often.

I love ESB, if you don't agree with someone your a hater :patsch

People aren't hatting on Wlad because he didn't get the KO, people are questioning why didn't even try to get the KO.

I saw him land several huge punches... what exactly is "going for the KO"? Fighting wrecklessly? There weren't many openings where Wlad felt he could throw his bombs, without putting himself in a bad position. That is what good boxers do.

Larry was one of the most boring fighters ever to lace up gloves.

Sure he is; if thats all that's available to him. However, the KO was sitting right there in front of him and he avoided it all night. He has some obligation to try his best for the fans and for as Michael Buffer announces "the millions watching around the world". He has a contract with HBO television, which is supposed to be a form of entertainment. People have paid to see him fight. They have made the effort to stand in line, wait in traffic, sit around, and for what? 12 rounds of a robot doing the JAB? Lets be real here, the fans watch heavyweights for knock outs, not for their finesse or their ability sit in the ring and rationalize. Its misleading and a misreprentation of him going in there, starring Ibragimov down, and then dancing around and hugging all night. What is worse, and further misliseading, is that you have a 6'6 guy in there, 238lbs, ala Ivan Drago, yet he fights like Ludmilla Drago. Sorry to say, but Klitschko's stock went down tonight.
