Not being able to bring as much money for TV as the others groups might have been a factor plus the fact he wanted to finish the whole Andrade story
Anyhow, if he were to be invited into the Super Six, he would already have a lost, would have to fight in Oakland (vs Ward) and most probably in Danemark (vs Kessler), so he would go in this tournament with a slight disavantage. And DiBella already had it cover, maybe knowing that at the end Taylor would take the get out option so he would be preparing the entry of Green or Bika.
Froch has fought Pascal and Jermain Taylor and Andre Dirrell Bute has fought....Biaka? Andrade, Zuniga? :huh:huh:huh
He was talking about skills and talent. And they're resumes are not that far distanced altough Froch's is better. Would be very easy to take it apart though just like for anybody really.
This is very true, however you have to call into question the talent level when it hasnt truely been displayed on the highest levels. Kessler looked like the one of the greatest fighters in the world against Andrade, but looked like a guy well ove his head when he fought Ward. Right now Bute has looked damn good at the level that he has been fighting, but it doesnt mean that it will translate to the highest level.
The resumes of Ward, AA or Froch does`t make any of them the man either, my friend. We talk about momentan No. 1 of the version not about the undisputed champion if you didn`t realize that. Let`s respect professionals opinion , at least. I DIDN`T SAY HE WILL BE UNDOUBTED THE UNDISPUTED CHAMP. IS HIS MOMENT NOW, after beating two previosly unknockable felows EACH IN LESS THAN A THIRD OF THE MATCH!
You're right. We don't know exactly how Bute will respond to A level competition. It's true we thought that Kessler was excellent but in that example, it's the guy with the "empty" resume who won. We knew that Kessler had trouble with a fast southpaw (Calzaghe) and we knew from that fight that he is not very ringsmart. We also knew what was his toolbox: jab, 1-2, straight forward, straight backward. Bute's box contains much more tools. Southpaw, good power, fast hands and fast legs, very good positionning, good upper body movement, and he uses pretty much all the arsenal a boxer can have. When he knows his opponent, he becomes very tough to beat. That means he adapts well. Bute is very discplined and is still improving. These are facts but they need to be confronted to the reality, of course. But they lead me to think he's able to win against many of the super 6 boxers.
I feel some sarcasm here. Let`s clearify things. The tournament was made for the top levels boxers (Europeans, champs or ex-champs) and ticket seller boxers (americans) - no offense. Every part was interested in something: Europeans to establish for good the domination in SMW wich is for years and $, Amerinans (wich includes the SHO) to not escape out of their hans the most promissing division and $. There are only two belts in game, the belt holders received consequently after negotiations two matches home. Bute is European, Romanian but fights in Canada, so he not belongs in any part of the game. Some said his staff wuold have secretely refused on offer but a champ can take any offer when the other champs received the above condition? Bute is a great person. So please respect his a champion. He`s not in the same league with Direll or Taylor, can be satisfied only with similar treatement as other champs , tournement or not.Peace.
So both The Ring and Box Rec overrate boxers but of course you have the ultimate opinion in this field.
