A guy once said : Bro, you're completely delusional. Wilder has defended his title 10 times. That's not luck, it's not a fluke, Wilder has just mix of skills that allow him to be successful. He's competing on talent and is a world class fighter.

But for me, I just personally think that today's Heavyweight are a joke. Not even single guy schooled manage Wilder becuz He got away with athleticism and raw power. HECK, He has a lot of basics wrong and he should be an example what not to do a ring.

I think every era has talent and every era has ineptitude. We can argue until the end of days how one era is the strongest and another is the weakest, but in the end they all have pluses and minuses.. My only real problem with modern boxing is that we simply don’t see enough of the best facing the best.

I don't know a thing about Wilder. After all, this is the CLASSIC FORUM so I can participate even if I've seen only about five "big-time" fights since 1995. I've never even seen him fight. But there's a difference between boxing as an art and boxing as a sport in which guys are so naturally big and/or juiced up that a few fundamentals are enough for them to get by and even excel. I suggest that you forget (and totally ignore!!!) these behemoths and concentrate on the smaller divisions. Then, at least there are fighters who are roughly the same size so that their skill level counts more than in the heavyweight division as it exists today. I'm not just shooting sh-t. I am totally sincere in this. I suspect that in the lighter divisions there's much better boxing going on.

Wilder does have skill, but it is almost entirely based around landing the right hand.
The few skills that he does show that arent just him finding ways to land the right, are sloppily executed

I think this isn’t a question for the Classic forum.

Probably a little bit of both.
Which is probably true of just about everyone.

Some truth to that. Yes, Wilder is one of the best pure punchers we have ever seen. All time his power is up there. Wilder needs only one punch, so much so he has limited his boxing style to delivering that exactly and thus is very one-dimensional. He throws a few pawing jabs and maybe 7-8 right hands a round, his punch output is powerful but very low. It's just his style no very I pleasing personally but you can understand his logic. Just because he has devastating power doesn't mean he could hang with the Ali's, Holyfield's and Joe Louis's. Just too many holes in other areas of his style. Outside of that power we have seen conditioning issues, a dentable chin and he can be outboxed. He would have to have the perfect night to win his style of fight vs ATGs, (yes he would win a few but lose way more on average).
