    Thanks.

How much did Canelo sell on his own before Trout?

How about Trout without Canelo? Let's see if we can split up and get a handle of some accurate figures so we can rank them objectively.

    edit:

    Alvarez: 12,860 vs Lopez
    Trout: vs LoPorto ???

I'm thinking Alvarez is the big draw here, and I'm happy to put him above Bute and Pascal.

    I have, so far:

    Alvarez
    Bute
    Pascal

This list is going to wind up being a list of guys who fight in soccer stadiums. Floyd, who is hands down the biggest draw in boxing, might not even be on the list because the majority of his fights are at the MGM Grand, which only holds 16,800. Meanwhile Wlad consistently fights in stadiums like ESPRIT which hold over 50,000.

Still worth doing, I think, because once you take Wlad/Vitali/May/Pac out of the equation, the numbers do tell something about the drawing power of those fighters, no?

I made that list thinking he was talking about total viewers, not just tickets sold to watch it live.

What about the Klitschko's? Surely they sell more than Bute and Pascal combined.

    Thanks, buddy! :good

    So far we have:

    1. Vitali, with a drawing power of 30-40k
    2. Alvarez, with a drawing power of 12k+... how much more can he make on his own? 16-18-30k??
    3. Bute, 10-12k
    4. Pascal, 8-10k

Anyone want to run the numbers for Wlad, Haye, etc. for me, please?

But mayweather fights in Vegas where the tickets are much more expensive and they make **** loads from the casino hosting it.

If he were to fight in a football stadium he would sell out too, if the tickets are as cheap as they are in Germany.

Wladimir Klitschko highest indoor box event ever at Schalke!!!!
61.000 against Chagaev. I dont think many can top that. At that time it was the biggest fight you could do.

Also I am guessing no one currently sells like Hatton. He took 40,000 to Vegas when there were only 14,000 seats available and everyone else paid $45's to watch it on the big screen in a different casino.

So to watch Hatton on the big screen it was more expensive than to be at a klit fight live! And people paid to fly to Vegas from the UK and stay in a hotel.

I'm thinking based on this, Wlad's drawing power is in the region of 40-50k.

Obviously, at the high end, it's hard to zone in on the numbers... because Haye was a huge draw himself...

So far, then, we can say:

    1. Wladimir Klitschko 25-40k easily (61k record)
    2. Vitali Klitschko 30k easily (43k record)
    3. Alvarez 12k+ (???) - need to get a handle on this though. (35k?? record)
    4. Bute 10-12k (16,5k record)
    5. Pascal 8-10k (17,8k record)

This was also the biggest boxing event in germany since Max Schmelling 1939. At that time 70.000 people watched Schmelling against Heuser.

Can I put him above Alvarez? Does he regularly sell more than Alvarez?

    1. Wladimir Klitschko 25-40k easily (61k record)
    2. Vitali Klitschko 30k easily (43k record)
