**** yeah call in pops mayweather if it aint too late already,,,not tryin to **** on frochs parade but that defense was ****ing gash
He always said he bases his defencee on his reactions, but to be honest since he moved up in class he is getting caught and rocked regularly and also his power isnt as evident as when he was fighting at British level.
Don't think he will; he's 31. Another x against him is he clearly isn't a student of the game; he's commented he doesn't watch boxing and fast-forwards to the knockouts . Its amazing that the UK has produced quite a few top level fighters in recent years, but some of them manage to get to world level without very very basic skills; FMSnr saying Hatton didn't even know how to hit the pads, Froch looking like he's never been taught anything about boxing; natural talent is great, but you have to keep learning. Basically, I think UK trainers are garbage.
Yeah, our boxers don't know how to box, and our trainers don't know how to train but they still keep beating folk up at the highest level.:huh There's a compliment in there somewhere ain't there?
Mustve been the fashion in British amateur boxing about 8 years ago. Holding your leg hand around your knee. The 2 biggest names - Carl Froch and David Haye
His left hand does nothing in defence. As a result he hides his chin behind his left shoulder and tried to block shots from both sides with his right hand. As soon as he gets out of his pattern he's there to be hit.
I think it has something to do with them watching RJJ when they were getting in to boxing and both having a massive ego. Carl Froch thinks he has the reactions of a prime RJJ but even against weak opposistion he still used to get caught. He does have a good jab and he works well off it though. Also I thought his corner told him all the right things to do and I thought after round 4 he was mostly in control in the rounds and was winning them until the last 20 seconds or so when he tried to stand toe to toe with Taylor who just had too much movement and handspeed for Froch when they fought like that. Mcracken told Froch not to do that but because Taylor always wanted to fight for the last 20 seconds, Froch's ego go the better of him.
