Hi guys Long time reader of the Eastside Boxing forums and long time boxing fan from Aus. Just wanted to ask if you can help me with the name of an Anthony Mundine documentary/special that aired around maybe 6-7 years, maybe even more. I'm 90% sure it was aired on channel 9, on a sat or sun afternoon. I missed quite a bit of it but the few scenes i do remember: it was either pre/post of the Kevin Pompey fight, while in Canada Anthony goes into a lift (heading to his hotel room?) and he starts talking to a mature African-Canadian women while in the lift, this whole scene looked really awkward, he mentions to her he was indigenous Australian. Another part was when he tells the story of actually having 4 amatuer fights and he won them all. I'm not sure how official this story is or if it's common knowledge for you guys but it was pretty big news to me. I mean i know his dad was a great fighter and he would have had a lot of boxing training growing up but i always thought he went pro without any amatuer fights. The third scene was anthony training in the background and a little crowd is there watching and the tv crew then speaks to an old man (i have never seen him before but i got the feeling he was a somebody, trainer/agent/manager/gym owner/expert/historian) saying Anthony hits as hard as a heavyweight which is laughable but something you always remember. I checked Anthony's imdb page and it has no mention of it so it could have just been a Wide World of Sports special which sucks cause it would be very hard to get a copy of it. If someone does remember the show and i misinterpreted any of the scenes i described, i apologize as it was a long time ago. Thanks for your help.
A Mundine documentry...try the Sydney Water site, it may have a section on how to flush an annoying turd
That's actually a really good scalp IMO on mundines record...7 fights vs 50plus who went the distance with some good champions and gets ko'd in 3 in his backyard. Mundine deff had a good career early on,fought some good fights, shame he went down hill with his opposition as his career progressed
Yeah green and then soliman 2 was mundine at his best. Thought he was gonna go to the next level after that but he never did. He did have one more great fight after that in mundine geale 1 but he should have had a better career.
