Don't expect too much on this but I really would like to know if a 1907 fight took place between Tery Mustain and George Gardner, the former Light Heavyweight champion. It is listed in Boxrec as Terry Mustain George Gardner, San Diego, California, USA D PTS 20. I know they boxed in 1908 but I'M surprised that I can't find a report of this first fight in the papers at the time. Maybe This content is protected or somebody with a deep knowledge of the Californian scene can shed some light on this?
Gardner and Mustain fought a 20-round draw on December 23, 1907, at Bay City Athletic Club, with George Blake as the referee.

Senya, you are a star. Found some pre-fight stuff, thanks to you but still no fight report-at least now I know it actually took place! Yes Mcvey that's him, he was a fringe contender for about a year.
Next-day fight reports are on page 3 in San Diego Evening Tribune, and on page 5 in San Diego Union and Daily Bee.
