Indeed. Technical boxers just play into Mayweather's hands.

I said yesterday that a prime Mayorga had a bigger chance of getting an upset, than most of the better boxers of the 90's, including Trinidad, Mosley, Forrest etc..

Picking someone because of extra power is dumb especially since we just saw a guy with "extra power" in Mosley get shut out. The fight is much more complicated than just power. Power will not be the deciding factor in this fight boxing skills will be.:deal

I agree here, power alone is clearly not enough to stop Mayweather. But Pac might be able to counter if he can improve his defensive fighting and diversify his style.

punchers chance at best, Mayweather too smart and more skillfully advanced. I dnot care if Manny has developed his right hook or not Mayweather has been using every weapon since he was a little kid.

Mayweather will win. Pac has a big fan base so you will get a ton of people believing he will win. But the betting lines already favor Mayweather, so those confident enough to put money on it favor Mayweather.

They will bring up a number of things which arent important, namely Pac's handspeed and power. Their handspeed is close but mayweather's reflexes are superior. Mayweather has already fought and outboxed numerous guys with fast hands. Pac has already been outboxed for half of a fight or more. I have also seen Pac frustrated, tired and busted up but I have never seen any of those from Mayweather. He will outbox Pac to an easy UD.

Pac isnt that unpredictable, he keeps a rhythm and has been outboxed before. Floyd has the best timing today and also says he does not keep a rhythm so he wont be predictable. Floyds already showed he can slip the shots of guys with hands as fast as Pac.

Better footwork? Probably but Pacquiao's feet are much faster. His darting attacks will cause Mayweather problems, especially when Mayweather is on the ropes. Even in the middle of the ring, Pacquiao will puzzle Mayweatger because of his rapid feet.

Pacquiao has more power, more variety, faster combinations, more unpredictable, better attack, better chin amongst others.

I think Pacquiao's fan base could be key too. Mayweather didn't have enough fans to sell out against Mosley, but we know there can easily be 30,000+ hardcore Pacquiao fans in the arena, when he fights Mayweather. There could be a 90/10 majority of Pacquiao fans in the arena and when he flurries, that will affect the judges opinion of how many are landing.

Pacquiao/Mayweather is much more likely to be a tough fight though. We know Mayweather can be hurt and Pacquiao is capable of doing what Mosley did in the second round, over and over again. In that case, power does cone into it because it could almost turn into a war of attrition.

I hope so, but it seems like pacs agressive style plays right into Mayweathers defensive skills and leaves him vulnerable.

I like Mayweather in that fight, but if Manny has taught us anything, it's that he cannot be counted out.

All elite boxers have a chance. Pacquiao is a an elite level boxer. So let's explore his "chance"...

Mayweather has at times thrown a lazy 1,2, meaning a slow left jab followed by a straight right hand that isn't pulled back quickly. If Pacquiao is able to time this and load up on a big shot, probably a lead left hook, Mayweather will be in serious trouble. :nut

Mayweather also will "stand and brawl" much like he did with Mosley (also with Corely). Doing this, like any toe-to-toe exchange, Mayweather can get caught with a great shot... just like he did with Mosley. Despite the physical advantages, Pac has fast hands, KO power in both hands, and is in a southpaw stance that reduces the defensive effectiveness of the famous/infamous shoulder roll. Mosley mostly throws the right and he was able to get through. Relentless shots coming from both hands AND that southpaw stance? Very intriguing! :think

On Pac's merits alone he has a high work rate, great stamina, and can throw from "odd angles". Some say "odd angles" is a lack of skill, however just as many say that the powerful punches thrown at angles that are unorthodox can be seen as offensive cunning. His recent string of wins seems to give weight to the "strategy" camp. :huh

Still... I hate Pac and he will get his butt whooped!:bbb:lol:
