Newbie to boxing or the general forum?

    Pacquiao certainly has a chance.

It's an intriguing matchup for sure. Pacquiao presents some problems to Mayweather, he's a southpaw and southpaws have given Mayweather some problems in the past (though Mayweather has always adjusted) most notably against Zab Judah and of course Pacquiao is very fast and has more power than Mayweather, and as others have mentioned he is awkward and punches from odd angles.

However, Mayweather has a lot of advantages. He's the most disciplined boxer that Pacquiao has faced since Marquez and Marquez gave him more than enough trouble. Some overlooked aspects about Mayweather is that he doesn't really fight in a rythm. And if he throws combinations of more than 3, it's in a completely different rythm than the typical fighter throws a 4 punch combination...there's usually a delay in there. Another overlooked aspect is that even though Pacquaio is heralded for throwing from odd angles...Mayweather can as well...it just isn't as quirky. Other things to take into account on the Mayweather side is that he's a defensive fighter...he'll be harder to lay leather on than Cotto or Hatton and it's harder to reel off combinations on him because if you open up too much he'll make you pay.

Overall, I'd give Pacquiao a 25%-35% chance, he's a great fighter and he'll bring it against Mayweather, I just don't think Mayweather will be overwhelmed like other fighters have been.

Pac's footspeed is much better than his footwork. There isn't anything complicated about it he basically does the same thing over and over but from different angles it's actually fundementally flawed. With that said PBF's footwork is light years better than Pac's. Pac punches with his feet in the air, he comes in wide open often times off balanced, this is fine when he' fightign guys who can't deal with movement or speed but a master counter-puncher like PBF with longer arms will have a field day with this it will be easy work.:deal
There won't be 30,000 people at the fight especially if it's at MGM Grand Garden Arena which holds 15000.

PBF will capitalize off of the many mistakes manny makes. PBF will make pac look very ordinary and put on a clinic against him.

You're acting like he can't fight at all. Come on. It's impossible to debate if you're going to be so critical of one fighter. The fact is, Pacquiao is an all time great despite these faults, so even if they do exist, it's hard to exploit them.

Saying things like "fighting guys who can't deal with movement" is just unfair and biased. It's Pacquiao's unorthodox, incredible movement which is so hard to handle. That said, I think the greats Pacquiao has beaten, could handle movement.

You say Mayweather wins easily. If he does, I presume you'll give him little credit? Or will you change your tune and praise Pacquiao like his fans do?

And the 30,000 figure was just random as we don't know where it'll happen. Regardless of whether it's 15,000 or 15, Pacquiao will have a massive majority of fans.

Damn GG good to see you pretty face on the forum. I am a fan of both Pac, PBF and SSM as you know. To beat PBF he has to have an educated jab. I think he will have a hard time though because PBF hands are just as fast, he is more accurate and has a longer reach. People think Manny has great one punch KO power but in reality he is a volume puncher. He might stun PBF but can he keep him hurt or will PBF be able to tie him up? People think Manny can overwhelm him with volume of punches but if he gets caught coming in, everytime he comes in, will he be able to let his hands go? Manny's biggest advantage is that he is south paw and PBf has trouble with south paws. Also, Manny is very quick . . . his footwork allows him to dart in and out like a cat. But this lead to another problem he tends to bounce and if you are able to time him you can make him pay. I would never bet against Manny but it is a tough hand for him to draw (and it is just as tough on PBF). The key to this fight is can PBF negate Pacs offence? Can he make Pac second guess himself and avoids shots that stop him in his tracks before he can get into a rhythm. I think once Manny gets on a roll it would be almost impossible to stop. There are probably a Million intangibles that I have not brought up. That is what is so fascinating about this fight.

Mayweather eyes will pop open every round he will be wary of Pac for 12 rounds iMO he can't take a rest or take his eye off him.Every second, every minutes is a FIGHT.PAC will be on his grill all the way and any of those rounds Pac may rattle him. SEE all the eyes of Pac opponents they light up when Pac blazes em.
