No worries, i call them as i see them, but back to the original question, dont be suprised if the fight never happens cus we all know Floyd dont like gettin in there with a live opponent and they dont get any better than pac at the moment. Unless the money is so rediculously big floyd wont take the risk, remember old man mosley had him hurt but didnt apply the pressure that pac can.
Good post.:good Even though im convinced May will beat Pac not for the reason you say, style wise i think he is gonna counter punch Pac silly. Pac will get through and make a for some uncomfortable and maybe even give a scare or 2,but May is too slick and i think his size and strenght were underestimatd, maybe even know it still is. Im going with May by decision although i would rule out a late stoppage.
LOL all of a sudden there's a real drop in nuthugger bias in this thread... For the thread starter, Pac has a decent chance at beating Floyd, but most probably due to the sheer work rate, unpredictability and stamina he has. Floyd is the favorite however because of his boxing ability (toolbox) you might say, and ability to adjust to his opponents. In the ring Pacquiao has a tendency to rely on his athleticism while Floyd tends to focus on using his boxing intellect to exploit an advantage he has and pull off the W, regardless of the method. As you can see the last fight, Floyd just had to get the timing down, but the plan was to consistently beat shane to the punch Winky Wright style. If this fight were to occur, I wouldn't put it past Floyd to work on counter punching in combinations like Marquez. Floyd is very underrated when it comes to punching power, as he does not K.O. as often as big punchers do, but he punches hard enough to get the opponent's respect. This may perhaps be the symptom of those pillow gloves he uses but I digress. The jab speed/accuracy will be a crucial factor in this fight and the tactics will depend on the method of movement that Manny employs while approaching Floyd. Floyd is also very slippery when it comes to landing punches on him, naturally due to his defensive reflexes, ducking under the punches and stepping to the side/behind the opponent. Slippery is not simply a figure of speech as the way he uses his philly shell and LEANS back when combinations are thrown at him, it is usually difficult to land a clean shot to the Floyd's face. In this position, the opponent will be forced to lean forward and commit to the punch, which is PERFECT positioning to land a counter uppercut/straight to the face, or check hooked, which no doubt I think Manny will get hit with if it's not addressed. Manny can get in and attempt to do body work, and this will be dependent on the style of guard Floyd uses, as Floyd tends to use the double guard rather than the philly shell against southpaws, since the shell would leave his face exposed to the straight left hand, which is Manny's signature weapon. Either way, Manny will have to get to the body to slow Floyd down, he might have to bulldoze his way in classic pac style because I seriously doubt he will be able to out think his way in. There's a lot of other stuff involved but imo it's a pick em fight for me but I think Floyd has a slight advantage, and no I don't think Pac will get KOed because he has never been KOed by a head shot, and Floyd rarely shoots to the body.
congrats on starting a thread about Pac and May that has not been derailed by terrible nut-hugging from both parties. Floyd knows how to fight hurt, the more I think of it, the more convinced I am that the fight will go the whole 12 rounds. Pac will bring the work-rate and will spell a great fight, in the lines of Morales-Pac or JMM-Pac. The odds are not good for Manny. Manny's chances are in treating each round separately. FOcus on winning rounds. Overall, the one who forces his own fight, wins. So yes, Manny has a chance... if he forces his own type of fight.
