Unless you count alphabet champs such as Roy Jones and Chris Byrd then it is Bob Fitzsimmons.

D'uhh! How the **** can I forget about Jones!

At least in his case, he had only fought once.

Are you 100% certain it was Fitzsimmons?

Thank you so much for your prompt reply! A very big help, it is!

    :cheers

    Cool.

Was RJJ the only alphabet titlist to have technically made the move as far as you know?

    Appreciate it guys!

Well, Archie Moore actually claimed the title in 1955 when he defeated Nino Valdes and was recognized as champion by Nevada.
Moore claimed the title again when he defeated James J Parker in 1956. Later of course he defended the lightheavy title several times.

Moore's claims, of course, were not generally recognized.

Like Janitor said, Byrd did it aswell , alphabet-title wise.

    Your welcome!

Not lucrative for fighters to come down in weight. Heavyweight is where the big money is.

Thanks for the help on this everyone.

I guess what Fitzsimmons accomplished becomes even more impressive in light of yet another failure in making the move down.
