Henderson vs Franklin 2 set for UFC 103

These guys are headliners. The fight does make sense in some ways.

I just think that since 2 of Henderson's last 3 were at middleweight, the UFC should view him as more of a middleweight contender. Henderson is a viable challenger, and deserves a rematch with Anderson Silva. Henderson won the 1st round of their encounter, and lost when he gave his back to a bjj black belt. Credit Silva with the win, but Henderson deserves another shot with his recent performances.

If GSP isn't interested in challenging Silva, and with the Maia and Marquardt winner yet to be determined, Hendo is Silva's biggest threat.

 

Mayweather-Marquez is going to bomb going agianst the UFC. People dont wanna pay 60 for one fight theyd rather pay 45 for atleast 5 very good fights. Kampmann vs Swick,Franklin vs Henderson II,Dos Santos vs Cro Cop,Franca vs Griffin,Trigg vs Koscheck,Escudero vs Miller hmmm name one bad fight on that card that is supposed to be so weak.

 

what happened to UFC 101 and 102

 

As a Trigg fan, that fight sets up horribly for him. Basically a younger him with better striking, less grappling. I like Kos as well though.

 

I agree, it is unfathomable to me that people think that JMM/PBf will do very good PPV. No one cares about that fight and for those who do theyd watch it for free. Im more interested about JDS/Crocop than that snoozer.

 

Exactly I can watch it for free one week later rather then pay 60 for it and like all Floyd PPV fights it will blow. Hendo vs Franklin 1 was very good,Swick vs Kampmann cant possibly being boring,When has Tyson Griffin ever been in a bad fight ?,Cro Cop vs Santos will likely end in a KO. Im more exicted for Juarez-John II on that undercard.

 

Unless you count all those PPV's they have main evented.

 

Yeah I know. The last 4 years Henderson main evented vs Wanderlei Silva,Rampage Jackson,Rich Franklin,Anderson Silva not to mention his co-main events vs Vitor Belfort,Murilo Bustamante and Michael Bisping. Rich has main evented vs Ken Shamrock,Nate Quarry,David Louiseau,Anderson Silva 2x,Wanderlei Silva,Yushin Okami,Dan Henderson and of course his co-main events vs Evan Tanner,Matt Hamil,Jason McDonald and Travis Lutter. 19 co or the main event not to mention both of these guys runs on TUF in front of the public eye every week and the 9 Championship fights they have appeared in. CDN probablly thinks these guys belong on UFN prelims hes so ****ing dumb.

 

It was a close fight. It's good to settle the score.

 

John/Juarez 2 (great 1st fight) is I believe supposed to be on that card. Judah/Hatton(brother) is okay and on that card.

Dos Santos/Crocop nobody cares about because Crocop hasnt been relevant in awhile. Nobody actually thinks he can become anything at this point of his career. Franca/Griffin good lightweight fight, Trigg/Koscheck? What the hell? Are they serious? Trigg hasnt been relevant in 4 years. How could anybody actually be excited to see this bout and have the nerve to say the boxing card only has 1 fight? And Escudero/Miller? C'mon man, dont be stupid. UFC is the ultimate hype machine. They bring in a rusty veteran like Trigg and throw him at Koscheck for an easy win and UFC fans are so brainwashed into thinking its a legitimate fight. Koscheck is going to run over Trigg.

And the main event is mediocre featuring 2 fighters who are NOT main event fighters. At least with Marquez/Mayweather it is a LEGIT fight between 2 amazing fighters. It may not have the style that will attract the casual fan but its a boxing fans dream fight. 2 of the most tactical fighters on the planet right now.

Mayweather/Marquez is going to tank in PPV's but thats because its just not a fight that appeals too much to the casual fan. But it is a great fight. And I wouldnt be surprised if the UFC does decent numbers (400,000) but the UFC does not have a better card than the boxing card. Its not even close.

 

Just because they have been main event fighters for the UFC doesnt mean they should.

Franklin is a borderline top 5 LHW and Henderson aint much better.

The fact that these guys are main event PPV fighters is actually embarassing.....and pathetic.

 

UFC isnt the entire sport of MMA jackass and thats basically what you are saying when you claim Trigg hasnt been relevant in 4 years. He beat down Mayhem Miller to become the Icon Sports Champion and dominated Kazuo Misaki just 3 months after Misake won the Pride GP.

 

I think it looks like a great card, some good fights here. I think you're a tight ass!

I like to see JDS/Cop fight because as far gone as Crocop is, he can still expose an unproven stand up talent like JDS if hes really focused on the fight. Also this is because I like JDS as well, hes one of the few promising "real" prospects out there, you cant miss that, its rare.

For boxing fans Id say that JMM/Floyd is an intriguing fight although it has a shot to be very one sided. The type of fight that the gen forum would trash as a disgrace right after lol. As for John/Rocky gosh I see enough 2nd tier talent in MMA. I was a willing fan of John, thought this guy was super slick..that is until Juarez gave him a tough fight. Hatton/Judah could have had some weight if it was Ricky in there.

The bottom line is, no ones buying this fight besides true boxing fans with money. Id watch it for sure. and Id love JMM to pull an upset. But for MMA fans, this fight means nothing. I cant say that true boxing fans werent at the very least intrigued with Brock/Mir
