Hendo is outlasting Fedor/Nog/Crocop/Wandy/Hughes/Chuck etc - is his ATG star rising?

    Its COMMON knowledge Hendo's been on hormone replacement. He's said it himself and has approval of the commissions. Overeem on the other hand has NEVER failed a drug test and is the subject of Steroid accusations. Im sure even a guppy like you knows the difference between the two. Then again may be not. O yea :lol::lol::lol:

    Yea and he still look strong. He could probably fight a couple of more years and win against the top fighters in his weight class.

    Irrelevant.

    Fedor should be ranked higher than Dan Henderson for sure, but as of right now Henderson is indeed outlasting Fedor and the rest of his contemporaries.

    Hendo beat Newton, Big Nog and Yvel in 1998-99, and now has a major win in 2011 at aged 40.

    Fedor's first big wins were Arona and Sobral in 2000-1, and he hasn't had a major win since Brett Rogers in '09 when he was 33.

    Fedor is greater overall, but Hendo's longevity is special. No-one at 40 should be able to fight like that. I severely doubt Fedor will even still be fighting at close to that age.

    Henderson was never cut by the UFC. What happened was Henderson heard what Ortiz was resigned for and decided that he was worth just as much and tried to hold them out for more money. To complicate matters Silva was NOT keen to have a rematch with Henderson despite it being the biggest money match available, and demanded that Henderson fight another top contender in one more eliminator. This all ended up with harsh words being sad, feelings being hurt and Henderson going to Strikeforce. The ban on Clinch Gear came AFTER it was clear he wasn't resigning.

    As for Henderson in the ATG stakes...he's certainly a top fighter but I wouldn't rank him in my top ten. While he won titles in two weight classes, its not like he dominated either in Pride and his North American career has seen him lose to the two world class fighters he's faced.

    I'd like to see a top 10 without Henderson in it. :think

    And Hendo beat genuine world-class fighters in Pride (Wanderlei, Belfort), so he has proven himself at that level.

    He certainly is. Although his Nogueira win was an SD over a green opponent. Nogueira submitted him in the rematch.

    Henderson has just aged better. When he was in severe trouble he lost unlike Nogueira and Fedor who (especially Nogueira) found a way to win, many times at the cost of their health. While they have left a tremendous legacy, losing would have perhaps lengthened their careers.

    Hope its clear, bit tired, just woke up, need coffee.

    Hendo is without a doubt top 5. He's fought at middlweight and has beaten the two best heavyweights of all time, irrespective of what stage of their careers they were at that's incredible.
