'I'm gonna beat him up.' :yep http://www.mmanews.com/ufc/Video:-Dan-Henderson-Talks-Anderson-Silva-At-UFC-101.html Hendo has learned from his mistakes, he's going 'fight' next time; no 'striking' from the outside; rushing, overhand rights, clinches, slams and elbows. Henderson TKO Silva :good
Henderson DID fight last time and he lost.... He won the first round, and was able to take Silva down and give him some problems.... Still, in the end, Henderson lost. If the re-match happens, Silva will win the match faster than the first.
Hendo's awesome but I really think Silva's got his number. He never really 'dominated' Silva in the first round of their fight- it was more like he was holding off or suppressing Silva's attack. It didn't take long for Silva to adjust and overwhelm Hendo. I hate to say it but Silva will probably do it quicker this time...:!:
Right on. In the second round, once Silva got into this rhythm it was only a matter of time. No way in hell could Henderson stand and strike with Silva, his only chance will be the ground game, but just as Henderson learned from the first fight, so did Silva, I don't think he would let Hendo take him down again.
Henderson is the most legitimate challenger at 185 most likely, is coming off a huge win, and deserves the shot. More importantly, he WANTS to fight Anderson at 185 which is something I'm not sure a lot of people are interested in.
I'm a huge hendo fan too, but what specifically do you think he did wrong that fight. He did remarkably well the first round, but that is only 20% of a fight; Silva is also often a slow starter in championship fights. I think if it were a 3 round fight I would think Hendo's chances go way up; I think his best chance to stop the fight is that big right hand, which is going to be a very limited possibility. I think he could do well, if like he is implying, he fights like did with Vitor and Wandy; wrestling, grinding the opponent down, doing damage from the top. With Anderson though, his guard is very good, although Hendo might be able to do enough damage to change or end the fight, but he is also at risk of Silva sweeping or subbing him, or catching him in a scramble with a KO or even sub. Basically I think Hendo can win rounds, but his main chance of ending the fight is low percentage and it takes him away from what he needs to do to win rounds. So hopefully he limits throwing that big right hand as a strategy to get the takedown. Silva just has so many ways to end the fight; if Hendo does nothing but swing he is almost certainly going to catch the sharp edge of Silvas best stuff and get stopped. The better chance is Hendo wrestling, but then he lowers his chances of ending the fight, so he has to possibly go 25 min and not get caught, it's a good chance, but not as good as Silva's.
I think Silvas almost at that level where his confidence and talent is so great that he can't be beat by anyone other than himself.
