hmm I think this would be a good scrap while Morrison eventually overpowers him for the win by cuts credit of morrisons booming left hook

Morrison was a steroid monster, but he had talent. In another era he would have been a clasic 190 pound heavyweight who would have developed into a more well rounded fighter who didnt just fight in angry spurts.

cooper was old shool and very well seasoned when he was rated. was tommy beter than amos johnson? hell yes! But did tommy beat a zorra foley type #1 contender considered perhaps the 2nd best in the world at that tiime? foreman and ruddock are morrisons best wins but neither was considred the 2nd best heavyweight in the world at that time.

I remember a good morrison geting his ass handed to him by a rusian heavyweight who gassed out after 3 rounds where cooper would have kept it up. unfancied Joe hip and faded carl wiliams were both well on top and giving morrison quite a beatdown until morrison came back at them.

a 1963-66 Cooper gives away weight, was fragile with cuts and was KO'd by patterson but I dont see morrison as sharp or fast as ali and floyd. I think the experienced cooper has far more polish. I see the fight as simular to cooper v billy walker with cooper actualy chopping up tommy.

Tommy was legitimately world class, while Henry never rose above the British and European level. Neither had a great chin, but Morrison did stand up to some good shots from Foreman, got up to beat Ruddock, and withstood a broken jaw to stop Hipp in a brutal war.

Cooper could counter and win over the championship distance, and would probably opt to try exploiting Tommy's sometimes questionable stamina. His eyes or chin would let him down though long before he could get to the point of taxing Morrison's endurance.

british and euro level was world class in this era. London, erskine, joe bygraves, richardson and mildenburger were always a match for top 5 rated contenders for the undisputed title. Cooper also had bethea, folley, roy harris and miteff on his resume. foley could have been w.b.a champion to floyds linear claim for being the avoided #1..
