I meant to say I wouldn't be surprised if Macklin pulls out sorry. Warren may be able to talk him into a world title eliminator. I think both guys want the fight but they want it on there terms i.e in there home town on there promoters show.
The Hennesey show with Showtime was a one off by the way he doesn't have a deal with them or an exclusive contract with any UK tv company. The Wembley Daws/Theophane/Watson/O'Donnell card also has no confirmed TV. I think its most likely we see it on Sky on a Hennesey show via Matchroom similar to the way we saw Murray, Barker and Fury this year. Most likeley in London but on a Froch PPV card would not shock me. The fight will have to take place within 120 days that means May 14th at the latest.
I actually agree with this. It's a very dangerous fight for Macklin just before he gets his world title shot, and warren could persuade him against it. I hope it goes ahead tho, cracking fight. Plus Barker will nick it :good
Perhaps Warren was sick of trying to make this one and just put in a nominal bid? Wouldn't surprise me if Mick has an eye on getting Froch vs Johnson over here, it certainly makes most economic sense to me. Johnson is a fairly popular guy but it's not as if he's a ticket seller. The Trent only holds about 9000, wonder if he'll fancy trying the NEC, it's not that far from Nottingham and it will appeal to the Macklin fans in the area.
Macklin sells tickets an hopefully I could fight daws on the bill an I sell tickets an believe with a few other fights on the bill it could sell out the nec
