How has the Eggington fight come about with Hennessy out of interest? Thought he was fully on board the Matchroom wagon given he's Bazza's favourite?
I really like that Pitters v Richards fight but not that big on the Eggington v Theophane fight. Theophane has pretty much been on a journeyman spree since his loss to Broner and he's 40 years old now. I can see a similar fight to the Malignaggi one. Richards has been training with Coldwell for a while now so will be interesting to see how he gets on.
Once I get over the morality of watching Sam taking yet more punches I can admit that I'll likely enjoy these nights. It's great to see boxing live on terrestrial tv and to see another promoter doing his thing despite the domination of Matchroom and Queensberry.
Suprised Hearn didn’t go for the egg and cheese rematch. agreed the pitters vs Richards fight will be interesting 50/50 that one
Fight was offered to both but Cheesemen priced himself out the fight. Egginton was well up for it. Their were a few comments between Cheesemen Egginton and Jon pegg (sams trainer) on twitter a few weeks back
They could have used a newer pic of Thug Life Theophane, the bloke has had his chest block tattooed now, ex jailbird so superbad, lookin like the car the green hornet had. Looking forward to these, I love Eggington, I say it on here a lot but I really do, he comes to fight.
I don't know why, but I love the Channel 5 nights of boxing. Maybe because I remember watching Tyson Fury in some entertaining (and amusing) bouts. Or maybe it's the memories of the Hughie Fury vs Chris Norrad epic. Theopane has Treasure written across the chest now.
