Has anyone seen this fight? It was scored 118½-116½ for Akinwande by the referee John Coyle who was a single judge in this fight. Was Samoan fighter robbed against UK fighter in London or it was a fair decision?
Doesn't appear to be on youtube. I think Akinwande was a supreme outboxer, with his speed, rapid jab and movement. I think he would of stood a chance of jabbing and grabbing a victory against Holyfield in '98 You have a strange way of scoring points btw
Akinwande was not the type to attract TV attention. His fight with Schultz previous to this was on SKY. But I do not think this fight received any coverage, not even closed circuit. I went to a similar event in Akinwande/Nelson which was not on TV (thankfully, as it was nearly as bad as Nelson/Deleon). My hunch would be it was no robbery, but an unmotivated, too defensive Akinwande going though the motions, doing as little as possible to win a fight that if motivated he could have had won inside half a dozen rounds.
Yes, strange, but it's not mine LOL Coyle should have scored 6 rounds even (10-10) to get that score... plus that ½ for each fighter
If there were no deductions or knockdowns the fight would have been scored seven rounds to three for Henry, with two even.
