I def see Arguello with a good chance to win..he would have no trouble finding Armstrong with those accurate combinations.it would be a grueling fight
Well no he wasn't good against guys with the style like Pryor constant coming in high pressure and Armstrong could put that on even more than Aaron could.
Really did he struggle that much? Remeber he was moving up in weight and fighting an elite of the weight. I think he did very very well.
I'd take Armstrong over anyone at 130. If everyone in history at that weight fought everyone else, Armstrong would have by far the best record.
Yes but because Arguello was so tall for those lower weight classes the guys couldn't really have an easy time boxing him the best counter style for a classic boxer is constant pressure, i.e Henry Armstrong
I wouldnt say Marcel is more skilled in a whole sense though. 2 of Arguellos biggest wins came against pressure fights, and he ate up a good few solid pressure fighters easily as well. I think Pryors size more than his style caused Alexis problems.
under arguello's rules i'd favour arguello, reverse if armstrongs rules. arguello would be dominant at any sort of range but it depends how much time is spent inside. saddler would be a fun fight (not for frankenfrank) and once the ref lets them get on with it i think armstrong lands more, although either could easily get a bad cut as heads will be constantly clashing.
